You say to the best of your knowledge but your knowledge falls short.

First of all, I applaud the fact that you left the comments open.

My experience is that Kratom is better than conventional pain medication in every way. I have broken nearly twenty bones in my life and most recently was prescribed Norco for four broken bones in my hand. Crushed by a hydraulic ram at work. I dumped the pills down the toilet, as usual because I'm not a fan of the liver toxicity associated with acetominophen, nor the chemical dependence caused by synthetic opioids. If I was prescribed natural opium I'd be a lot more comfortable.

Kratom is a leaf. It is mild to the point that I cannot possibly feel the effects of even 20 mg. Hydrocodone, comparitively, as I would be vomiting for a half hour if I tried. The plant has built in properties that prevent abuse. As for the claim of seizures? I've had those, because I have idiopathic seizure disorder and Kratom has never triggered a single one. Not once, I also know a man who sells easily $10, 000 worth of Kratom a month and he's told me that it's saved people from drug abuse, the truly harmful drugs like Suboxone, Roxicodone, Fentanyl and others. I'll be sure to ask him about how many customers of his are having seizures, as I'm sure he'd hear about the lawsuit.

This harmless leaf saves lives, and the withdrawals? A Goddamn joke compared to something like Suboxone, and as an M.D. *you know that* . I travelled to Arizona for work in 2017, and to Marin County, CA in 2019, both times nobody had Kratom for sale. Oh well, it wasn't fun but it also wasn't bad at all. I've detoxed from Alcohol, so this was a joke, I worked right on through.

People die from Caffeine too, sir, every year. But coffee beats meth despite the fact that they're both "carbon based"; one is synthetic poison, the other you have sitting on your desk.

I believe if you're going to call it bad and people die you should look at your field as well. any deaths overdoses from suboxone? I'm almost certain there are and I think within 10 yrs they are much higher. don't push compounds drugs just because you make money is all im saying.

Come on, this is an actual MD? His assertion that says it's weird to begin with. In other words, "Suboxone pays my bills and nothing else works except for that, period".

I would say proceed with caution for someone considering kratom. It’s not for everybody, but it does help a lot of people, including myself. It’s not all good nor all bad.

I listen to my own body at this point, take in consideration how physicians are trained as well. And how money is made off us. I have Spinal Stenosis, depression, anxiety. Addiction in past as well. I appreciate every learning video I watch. Thanks Dr. B, but 11 deaths with MOST having OTHER things in system like heroin, coke, etc. We must LEARN responsively.

I'm in a moral dilema on it. I'm dependent on Kratom for pain, and anxiety 5 grams a day 2.5 x2 a day.

I'm dependent on heart medicine for BP hypertension (crazy high) . If I don't take my heart medicine, my BP goes up, my quality of life goes down. Without it, it sucks.

If I don't take my Kratom I'm in horrible pain, quality of life goes down. Alsoy anxiety is so high all my life, without the krat my quality of life goes down.

If it's bad to take Kratom for pain and anxiety, because I'm dependent on this substance to give me a better quality of life, is my heart medicine bad too ?

Even the heart medicine had to be tapered to come off it. And almost any substance that causes withdrawals when stopping abruptly should be tapered, but the substance that causes withdrawals the definition of a "bad" thing to take ???

I can understand if someone taking a substance causes them to become homeless, BROKE, LOST relationships, immoral actions ya normally wouldn't do, but ya do just to get the substance is a BAD thing. Like HEROIN, meth etc, .

Those can take a whole life from a family I get it. Those also cause physical dependency and psychological, and I believe it's why people label ANY substance that causes dependency as bad, and then people kind of place them in the same category ... For instance Heroin = opioid receptor activity, and dependency BAD - and KRATOM = opioid receptor activity and dependency so IT MUST be bad I think is people's beliefs.

When the truth is, neither are BAD for those reasons. ONE is bad because it causes overdose, theft, murder, crime, domestic violence, immoral actions a person would've never even thought of b4....

Kratom does not. I'm sorry I disagree.

Could Kratom make a person act out badly like this ? SURE !! Is it likely ??

My take on it also is, taking Kratom doesnt cause withdrawals, NOT taking it DOES, OR stopping intake the incorrect way does. I can't abruptly stop my heart medicine, why would I with my pain medicine (Kratom) ...

If Kratom serves your pain, depression it anxiety, at 6 dollars an oz what's wrong with something making ya feel good ? Why is it bad to feel good ?

SO what of it causes withdrawal of not taken, , , , don't stop taking it then lol simple.... And if you have to, take down 1 gram a week Like smoking 20 c9gerettes a day, if for the whole next week or whatever, you smoke 19, you won't notice it or feel it.... And so on..
Just because a substance makes ya feel good, takes away ailments, at the expense of dependency doesn't make it bad. YOUR actions make a person bad, what bad action comes from Kratom use ?

Haven't met any prostitutes yet trying to get a 2 dollar Kratom

Kratom is not a hallucinogenic. As a doctor you do know that practically any substance can be abused? Those deaths you mentioned have not been proven to be solely attributed to kratom. I'm not familiar with your channel but it sounds like you should do more research before dispensing advice. Yes, I'm a kratom advocate, I use it, it is a useful product for a great many people. A reputable online dealer will ensure quality and reasonable pricing. Moderation is the key and most users adhere to that.

I started out over two years ago convinced by the Kratom community that it wasn't addictive, couldn't impair you, and basically that it wasn't a drug. I needed to believe these things were true, so I did. I went from using it occasionally to using it every day, multiple times a day, (up to 30grams per day.) I continue to use kratom regularly because if I stop or taper, I have serious withdrawal symptoms. Runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, aching bones, muscles and joints, irritability, general VERY low mood and anxiety, headache, MAJOR fatigue, lethargy, and body weakness... the list goes on. The last time I went a couple days without kratom I was alternating between falling asleep at my desk at work and whimpering in pain, (both emotional and physical.) I was "jonesing" for a fix.

I used to be like a lot of you in the comments - fiercely pro kratom. I would fight anyone tooth and nail who said anything negative about Kratom. I'd cite papers and articles that would "prove" its safety and non-addictive properties. Because I needed to believe that kratom was perfect - that it was my savior. Turns out, as with everything, you can have too much of it and it is not perfect. I can personally attest to the fact that even the alkaloids in the purest, safest, independently tested kratom DO impair you when abused and your body CAN become physically and mentally addicted to it, whether you want to believe it or not. Adulterated kratom is dangerous on a whole other level.

I don't know you guys, but I hear you. I get it. I used to be like you. I hope that you have been able to use kratom without having it take over your life, but for me that wasn't the case. I wish I could go back to the days I was able to have a couple grams as an alternative to alcohol for a bit of a euphoria, but having the addictive personality I have, I am now chained to this green sludge day-in and day-out until I detox.

Kratom has its place in the medical world and is a fantastic alternative medicine for many, but for those with addictive personalities and for those who begin to rely on it to cast a "filter" over their life in order to cope, it just becomes another drug to abuse. Even if it isn't as bad as alcohol or heroin or meth or cocaine, you can still become addicted to it and it can still be abused. I am proof of that.

The other piece I wanted to briefly touch on is harm reduction. I’m still on my journey through addiction and kratom has been both a healthy and toxic part of my journey. On one hand, kratom likely saved me from descending down a self-destructive path of buying opiate pills off the street, which would have likely resulted in my losing my husband and my career. But on the other hand, I am now more dependent on kratom then I EVER was on dilaudid pills or Percocet or whatever else I was able to get my hands on. As you can likely guess, I have a complicated relationship with kratom. Did it save me? Very likely. But has it also shackled me like master would it’s slave? That’s a hard “yes.”

If you are NOT an addict, perhaps kratom truly has only done good things for you. Perhaps it cures your pain in ways that prescribed medication never could and maybe it even saved you from suicide. But please understand that you are the exception, not the rule.

Kratom withdrawals are not fun but I can’t imagine having to go to rehab for them. The weird thing about kratom, was I had absolutely no cravings for it. My body didn’t even want it most days but I had to just to feel normal. People need to be educated. I was under the impression it was the same thing as drinking coffee everyday.

That was awesome. I literally asked about Kratom. And said Dr.B should do a video and bam he did it! Lol thank you for your word and help Dr. B. I was taking a lot of it for my depression and anxiety and RLS etc and because of you I’ve decided to cut down and really be more careful and responsible with this stuff. Thanks!

What a dumb opinion. It’s legal dude. Just try it for a month instead of coffee or alcohol. It has literally replaced alcohol and opioids in peoples lives.

I am glad you are not my doctor. Have you done Any Research at all on people lives that have been Saved because of Kratom? Let's talk about the Whole Story doc, not just the part that enables You to make money. Kratom has been taken in Indonesia for Hundreds of not Thousands of years. How's many deaths have been reported in Indonesia doc? ZERO is the answer! Isn't that even a Little suspicious to you? All of a Sudden people are Dying in the US? Figure it out doc, come on.
