Olmar's reaction really sold this scene for me. The entire rest of the scene is stellar, but Olmar's reaction of understanding in that moment is very real. Seeing thorfinn's courage moved him to be better. This scene is a masterpiece

i like the way how everyone respect Thorfinn after getting 100 punches. i know this is a fictional story but that doesn't mean we can adopt the same ideology of Thorfinn and try to improve ourselves and the world itself, also since i make up my mind in rejecting hatred and my bad attitude my life has changed drastically so i have nothing to say but thank you Thorfinn.

I've read that scene back when it was released as Manga. It felt epic back then, but something i didn't realize until now is how much influence that scene had on me. I try to be a good man, avoiding Conflicts as much as possible. Not because i wanna run away, but because i know how hard it is to maintain peace, especially if a conflict breaks out even once.

Ive wondered for a good while now where i picked up that mentality, but now i remember. It was Vinland Saga. Thorfinns dedication to peace at the cost of his own well-being is something that inspires me. Of course i dont expect or hope to ever bet my own life for it, but i will keep pushing for the most peaceful solution possible for me.
At the end of the Day Thorfinn is a "fictional" charackter in a "fictional" story. I should and never will expect to recreate the actions done in fiction. But i can try getting as close as reality allows me to be. And i would't have it any other way

After I saw several negative comments of season 2 being trashy, lame or boring, I was sceptical and refrained from watching this season at all, but I finally watched it yesterday, and man were the people wrong, completely wrong, I wonder how can some people be so wrong, this season was simply epic. Especially the season climax, it is one of the best I have seen recently. It is as epic as it is heartbreaking. The people complaining about not enough fighting seems to be the same people against whom both Thorfinn and Conute are standing up against, the people who find entertainment in wars, for many people today, the victims of war have become just a mere statistic. People have made out an enemy of the people who they don't know, haven't met in their entire life and neither will for the rest of their lives. Recent events clearly proved this, people have made Israel or gaza as their enemy in their minds, even though they don't know anything about these two other than their names. Anime's watchers have increased greatly but it is a shame that most people want edgy fights over a great story which they can relate too.

Thorfinn is the opposite of Eren Yeager. They both were traumatized by the death of one of their parents and are consumed by revenge. Eren believes everyone outside of the walls are his enemies and wants to kill everyone for his people to be free. While Thorfinn realizes that he has no enemies to fight and wants to create a place for people to live free without being oppressed.

Before my family made me realise how brutal the competition is to get into a government college in India, I was mostly a history nerd slowly getting into anime.

The thought suddenly occured to me one day to look up if there were any historical anime. It was 2019, and I was in my pre teens. I'm glad I stumbled over Vinland Saga.
