-----------------------------------------
ESSENTIAL OILS
This process uses pure essential oils such as Wintergreen or Eucalyptus oil and has a very distinct painterly look. Essential oils are pure oils extracted from plants or trees and are often used in aromatherapy practice. Therefore they are relatively safe and provide a non-toxic way to do image transfer.

LASER PRINT
For this transfer to work you will need to print your image on a laser printer or make a copy of your image with a photocopy machine. The print or photocopy must be printed on a standard weight printer paper (this is very important or the transfer won’t work!) Standard weight often is referred to as 20lb. bond.

Important!
Not every kind of toner print will work! Some laser printers and copy machines use toner that does not transfer with oil.
In order to find out which printer and copy machines work with oil
transfer, you have to experiment with the different ones available to you
until you find the ones that do.
Generally speaking old printers and copy machines tend to work better.

Tried this on a repurposed container with a floral laser printed page. Beautiful! Thanks for your inspiration and expertise.

Very nice! May I know what type of paper should the photo be printed to be used for this transfer to work? Is it just normal photo paper or a special paper?

I am so excited to try this, and am still on the lookout for a good laser printer that does both color and black and white, as there There are no copy stores open nearby now, and I know it’s going to create a happy distraction! I also happened upon a big pile of discarded ceramic tiles that I scrubbed and out through my dishwasher. It would be great if this worked on those too! Have you done this directly on cardboard box paper ? I love the idea of using recycled materials; especially now since many folks are getting lots of home delivery and recycled boxes are EVERYWHERE!

I need to transfer a picture on a mosaic tile, do you think this is doable on mosaic? I have tried a mod podge technique I found on YouTube but I didn’t like the sticky surface

Hi Nitsa, I only recently discovered your channel. You are so lovely and your work is amazing! Do you have any videos that show transfer with inkjet prints? I looked at your online classes but I don't have access to a laser printer so it may be no use. Kindest regards, Mary from Australia.

Great Nitsa, what would you use if you wanted to 'seal' the finished transfer, any idea or would you not bother? thanks.

Can essential oils be replaced with more available vegetable-based oils such as safflower, soybean, flaxseed, coconut, or bottled vegetable oil?

Hi Nitsa, great work, would this also work when transferred onto paper?
