This is NOT your average iPhone vs Android comparison. This video digs in deeper and zooms out wider. Also, it's respectful of both sides while pointing out important things people may not realize when simply comparing model vs model year after year.

Btw, when ppl talk about customizability on android, they're not talking about making things look pretty, they're talking about making the software more convenient and cater to each person's needs, this includes automation, routines, countless widgets for quick access to specific areas within apps, websites etc. Possibilities are literally endless.

What is this? A balanced perspective on tech? I didn’t know such things existed

I had been an Android user for most of my life… at least until the iPhone 11 came out and I mostly switched out of curiosity. Honestly I think either iOS and Android can work, but like you said it really depends on your own personal needs and wants from your smartphone and accessories. Now I use an iPhone 13 and an iPad 9 and I really like the consistency and long term use options Apple has over the Android devices which don’t really last as long when it comes to app support. But, I won’t pretend that I don’t sometimes miss the more customizable nature of Androids and the freedom that comes with it, but Apple makes up for it with great consistency and quality. Use what makes you happy. Both are great and both have their pros and cons and both will only be as useful as you make it.

Cheap phones have became good . There's literally no reason to spend$1000 + on a phone these days

I agree with you on differences between these two systems. I do have both and find my top of the line Samsungs to fit me better as a phone, but I do like the Apple ecosystem. In the end I still lean to Android because of the features and customizable setups.

It's kind of a pain to switch from the Android operating system to iOS. Everything is different 😆
Thanks for the video!

I'll very likely always be in Google's ecosystem instead of Apple's, unless Apple were for some reason to go cross-platform for their services. It's quite simple, really. I refuse to go with an ecosystem that locks me in totally. I want to feel like I'm free to do what I want. If I want to go to iPhone, I will. If I want to switch back to Android, I will. That's what Google affords me the right to. BECAUSE Apple wants to sell you hardware, they will do anything they can to keep you from using an Android phone with your iPad, or an iPhone with your Android tablet. With Google, you can have an Android Phone and an iPad and still have a reasonably decent time. Youtube Music, Chrome, Docs/Sheets/Slides, Keep Notes, Google Maps, Google News, Google Photos, Google Drive, Google Play Books, etc. All these are on Android and iOS and are synced between devices. When I had an iPad Pro last year, I refused to use Apple services unless I had to, because I'm not going to let myself get sucked into their locked ecosystem.

I really respect how good Apple are at what they do. Amazing hardware, polished software, beautiful products and seamless integration. But their insistence on me sticking with them and only them is what keeps me away.

Great Video - in my family I have 3 iphones (wife and kids) and one Android (mine). The reason I am still on Android is specifically for the customization components - I have a single screen where I can get /view weekly weather (animated) - music player (with album art - animated) - batter percentage - charging status (animated) - 2 separate wallpaper sections - highly functional quick launch bar / popups all on one screen - I also make use of the Always on Display - but most important - was the Notification Light (blink) that would show me by color - what type of notifications I have - no need to 'wake up ' the phone to know if I have received something or not. To me that was the biggest feature (of a Samsung Galaxy 9 [and before] ) . Again - personal choice!

Your comparison has to be the most unbiased, informative, easy to follow one I’ve ever seen. Your breakdown of what your buying into (apples connectivity or androids customization) was such a great way of explaining each side.

Great video! I gotta say choosing between the 2 operating systems is getting harder and harder every year.

Great video! Especially when explaining the difference between the two platforms. Might I suggest mentioning how Android works within the ChromeOS and Windows ecosystem now too: Sending and Receiving Chat messages on Windows or ChromeOS, Starting an email on Android and finishing it on ChromeOS or Windows, unlocking your Chrome tablet or laptop with your phone, Send a broadcast messages from Pixel Buds, Galaxy Buds, etc... to your Nest Displays and Speakers, See who's at the front door on your AndroidTV using a Nest doorbell.

I know it's kind of hard to overlook because people don't really talk about it much on YouTube, but it's all there.

Here is the real major differences
Apple:
- Performance is superb it won't drop a single fps in mobile gaming(unless its like 6yo)
- Expensive but if you really obsess with high performance it'll be worth it
- Hard to Pirate stuffs
- Good Camera
- dropping it will cause alot of damage
- secure

Android:
- Performance in gaming is good but not as good as apple
- Not a pain on your wallet
- Pirating is easy asf(+15pts)
- allows .apk files
- durable
- able to do illegal stuffs easily(+15pts)

In the end of the day both of them is great.

Chris, I LOVED this video! Thank you man! You provided the information someone would need to make a truly informed decision. You are right - at the end of the day, either "ecosystem" can meet someone's needs. It just depends on what an individual values. I always appreciate your videos! You are very professional in your presentation style, each video contains the right amount of content (not too much or too little), and I walk away feeling like I have gained valuable insight and information...not just someone's opinion.

I have an iPhone for work and a OnePlus device for personal use. They are both fantastic phones with fantastic operating systems and apps that do everything I need and much more

I use both. The iPhone SE from 2016 is my banking device and I use a Xperia XZ1 as my actual phone. Customisation is important but to be honest I've used the same Nova Launcher layout over several android phones now, so can understand why people like the simplicity of what Apple offer. If either phone were to die I wouldn't have a great issue using either for the tasks I do on the other, both have their strengths and weaknesses. It's why I use both as I feel that they compliment each other.

Accessory wise I did go with a Samsung smart watch over the Apple Watch. Samsung's offerings simply look better, though not as feature rich, whereas the Apple Watch looks like a miniature iPod strapped to your wrist. There's a reason that the market for iPod Nano watch straps still exists. Plus I can pair the Gear S3 I have with both Android and Apple phones.

I've been pondering on wether I should switch or not. And this is exactly what I was looking for. None other video on YouTube has given this kind of comparison and perspective on what you're really getting into when you buy an iPhone or an android device. Idk why you don't have more viewership. 🙌🏼

Best part of this video was the fact you didn’t try to convince us of how “great” an android phone is, while wearing your Apple Watch. I hate “those” videos. Seems like all the Tech YouTube creators try to sell you on an Android phone but they are all iPhone users. Thanks for video.
