Android 15 and iOS 18 are both major new releases that'll power the smartphones we're using into 2025 and beyond. There's a lot of AI, of course, but more than buzzwords, cutesy or perhaps terrifying images, and new ways to rewrite your CV in the style of a pirate -- there are plenty of new features to dig into that really highlight the contrast that still exists between Android and iOS.

So with iOS 18 already out and Android 15 rolling out to phones imminently, it's time to take a look at how these two are shaping up.

How did you guys NOT talk about FILE MANAGEMENT? It's one of the main reasons I can't switch to iOS.

Honestly I don't think that you can compare Android Ios directly, Android has many flavours and some features might be avaliable some might not. For instance I find one UI from samsung to be the best one(it's a personal opinion feel free to disagree). But yeah, Overall I still think that Android is ahead of IOS in many aspects

iOS is the sure reason why I can't use an iPhone as my daily phone. I don't like it at all. And the fact that it is not an OS made to be used with one hand really annoys me. I always have to reach to the top left or top right corners of most pages or apps, which is very annoying. Yes, lately iOS has borrowed a lot from Android, but it is far from being as easy to use. Everything is more complicated on iOS and always requires more steps. So, yes, I love the iPhone, but I hate iOS. For me Android remains the easiest to use and the most intuitive.

Notifications on iOS are a complete shambles.

For example, why does the whole screen light up because of a single notification?

Android desperately needs more animations throughout the OS. iOS is far ahead in terms of having so many dynamic visceral animated interactions sprinkled throughout the UI/UX. Android just feels stiff in comparison.

0:10 I love how the prompt was just literally "Hedgehog" with NO video game references and the AI just autmatically went "Ahh, you mean *Sonic* the Hedgehog of course. Gotcha!"

The only correct way of dealing with notifications in any OS is to disable them. You are welcome :) Especially group chats and dopamine-hungry apps like social networks, etc

I find it ridiculous that android which is supposed to be king of customization has a bloody at a glance and search bar you can't remove.

I’ve used both systems they both have benefits just depends on which platform prefer and eco system. iOS has far better animations imo and it’s very clean UI. Android has better customization etc. iOS and Apple experience has just been smoother since they design software and hardware so the Pixel is the same now but all these past years Apple didn’t need a lot of ram and smoked Androids due to optimization and now Samsung and pixel have caught up. That’s. My opinion o enjoy both 🤷‍♂️

on IOS 18, Apple finally unveiled it's revolutionary Frame Freeze Pro feature that allows you to pause video while recording, it's truly a time to be alive😊

I always add the chrome passwords shortcut to my android home screen and it literally recreates the password app experience in iOS except it was available first

I like iOS 18 a lot I didn’t think I would and having got my 16 pro Max iOS 18 just feels a lot more stuffy than it did on my 14 pro Max, yes iOS 18 has feature features that Android has had for years but so what I say better late than never but I still do think my 16 pro Max is an unfinished product as it has launched without Apple Intelligence which is trickling out next month. For me, it’s all about preferences between iOS and Android, and most of the comments are obviously our favouring Android and that’s fine, but one thing that not even Android users can deny is that without iOS, Android wouldn’t exist in its current form.

As an iOS and longtime Android user I have one issue with Android. Android has many features but it’s not always working flawlessly. iOS has less features but every feature is well thought through and works consistently good.

Password manager or backup is just great on iOS. With Android it sometimes works well when Google is Samsung Pass asks to save passwords but it doesn’t work with all apps and it seems an hit and miss feature. Going to a new phone is also a disaster with restoring backup and passwords.

This is just one example but many features are not well optimized.

In short I think iOS is just more optimized and very consistent performance overall.
