Im experimenting with IPFS and upload documents that I want to be available forever and not worrying about my server in 20-30 years. Maybe that's another use case apart from IPFS being distributed web.

I'll be honest and I don't know that much about IPFS, but from this video, I think that IPFS can be used in conjunction with the centralised web. This can be done by serving the static content and base services through a traditional protocol like HTTP(S) on a centralised network while using IPFS for the network heavy multimedia content. This way, the load on central server will be reduced, thus offloading server costs and the number of users a site has will also directly influence the UX. This method also has another advantage, if the site is malicious, the base services can be discontinued such that a user cannot connect to said malicious site.

I remember hosting my website on ipfs via terminal when it was new. My computer was the only node that had it.

I hope to see it in firefox as well, but I think there's already a plugin for all this.

This is very interesting to me. Weird question, but what why can't users store their own data, and sites have a way to request it from the user. Isn't that still peer to peer? At least in the future as storage becomes better, why wouldn't that work? I know something has to not work there. I mean that is essentially what brave would allow you to do right? Did you make a video on the NAT?
