This particular video marks a definitive moment in the T.Dweeb experience. Whoever this fella is in the other world, we are seeing here a genuine soul who wants to share. Watch it again, you'll see it. Then you won't unsee it.

I usually don't comment much, but I'd like say that I love how you explained your love for the space you've created. I share the same exact feelings for my own set up and I feel like its hard for others to truly understand why its so meaningful. Thank you for sharing this with us, love the channel.

I'm 40 as well... your story struck home. Currently shopping for all the mini systems from the late 2010s to relive my childhood.

I just turned 56 today. A number of years ago I came to the conclusion that, in the grand scheme of things and with all the knowledge that exists in the universe, I don't know anything. I mean, sure, I know some things, but that likely adds up to less than 1% of 1% of all knowledge there is. While I'm not always happy, I am 95% less stressed out about the little things. It works for me. It might work for others, as well. As my wife of 27 years likes to say, "You never know until you know." Thanks for being you, TD :D You're part of what makes me happy <3.

It was heart warming to hear someone opening up about how they feel about life in general. Everyday I wonder what I'm actually doing in life and even though I put 100% into life I still stand back and think how crap I really am at it.
But when we just stop and realise that the simplest things in life is what really matters the rest of this complicated, mad, crazy world can just bugger off!
A simple cup of tea, a hug from a love one, talking to the kids or just playing non over complicated video games.
Simple joys will save us all!
Keep up your good work Dweeb 👍🏻

I'm younger than you TechDweeb (32) but totally loved the ending of your video. I've been getting heavily into retro gaming the past few years, recollecting all the old Gameboy games I stupidly sold to GameStop, as well as nabbing some of the video game consoles I wasn't allowed to have as a kid. A friend of mine asked what's the point of buying all this stuff when I have a powerful computer that can just emulate it all, and my husband defended me by saying this was my mid-life crisis. At first I was fake-angry at the idea that at 32 I'm already MID-life, but hearing your explanation of your midlife crisis actually connected the dots really well. I sit at my desk surrounded by old Gameboys, retro NES and SNES games, a few fun handhelds, and some video game memorabilia and I receive a sense of calm and happiness. Like you said, I need to give myself permission to say, "Hey, it's cool to chill right now." Thanks for the video dude!

What a cool little Dweeb Cave! As a guy who just hit 60 one thing in life that I learned, repeatedly, is that you need to not stress the little things. Trust that it'll all work out in the end and it probably will. Life isn't perfect, neither are we, but accepting the fact we have very little control over our universe and accepting that you can't "fix it all" and just chilling out and relaxing daily is the way. Now, where did I put my car keys...?? Meh, they'll show up, they always do 😁 Thanks for the show and tell Mr. Dweeb, it was fun 💯

My wife and i are making a retro corner in our living room. Old tv with snes and nes hooked up. An old brown cushy chair that your grandpa used to sit in. A small table next to the chair with Nintendo Power magazines on it. Wallpaper just in that corner that is like 80s/90s wallpaper. Just a simple place to chill and read or game. A time machine to the and some 80s/90s movie posters. It shall be glorious once complete.

Hey Tech Dweeb, this video really hit home for me bud. Today (July 15th), is my birthday and I just turned 46. I am married and have a family so yes responsibilities always have us thinking and worrying. The great thing about a hobby is that it keeps you centered and reminds you to be you. I love gaming, always have and always will and recently I’ve been dipping my toes in Emulation and I love it. Nothing beats that feeling of playing games from the past that brings me such joy and I too have a bit of a nerdy corner in my setup. It’s still a work in progress and I’m glad other fellow gamers out there are doing the same. Thanks for sharing your hobby with us, we all appreciate the work you do and we’ll see you in the next one!

Was not expecting to cry watching a Tech Dweeb video! I’m 34 and I also find life confusing and sometimes downright scary, and playing retro games on my various systems and handhelds really calms me down. Right now I play a lot of retro computer games on my mini pc hooked up to an old 4:3 Samsung LCD screen I got from a thrift store. I mainly play Morrowind and Sims 1 and 2 and they look wonderful on it! I also have a big 27” Phillips CRT in my living room which has a PS3 and a Dreamcast hooked up to it, the tv has RGB and S-Video hookups, so I’m very lucky. In my bedroom I’ve got two CRTS, one with a GameCube and N64 and the other with PS2, OG XBOX, Wii and a VHS player, the TV has a DVD player built in! We have this setup because my partner and I like to parallel play, and both TVs have headphone jacks! Love your setup! I use a Cherry mouse because it’s got that retro beige and look that I like, but it is wired. Still, it might be what you’re looking for, style-wise! And also I see retro bookshelf speakers at thrift stores all the time, but you may need a receiver/console to get those up and running. They look great, though, when I do see them!

Thanks for the great video TechDweeb! I'm 50yrs old and started out with the Atari 2600 back in 1981 and I never dreamed that I would be able to play so many different games at my age now. It's become such a passion and so great to be able to share it with such a wonderful community like this!😁👍

I’m close to 46 and still haven’t figured out this level that’s called life, it didn’t came with a manual 😅. Like you and most of us I need a place to escape the daily struggles of work and the expectations people are putting on me (sometimes without knowing they do that). I just remodeled my game room to give it a serene vibe but there is one corner where my 80’s side is jumping with joy. I understand why you bought that specific commodore tv, I’m on the hunt for a specific Walkman, mainly for display purpose but it will add to the vibe. I love retro games more and more, there are some newer games I like and looking forward to but throughout the year I keep playing more retro than before (the DGS helps a lot with that as well 😁). It’s nice to have a place to relax. Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Man that ending really hit me, I also feel like a fake adult with everyone around me having their shit together, it's crazy to me that someone that I feel is so successful like you can share on the feeling.
For what it's worth, you're my current favorite YouTuber out of all the ones I watch, thank you for making these videos! 😊
