Tokugawa, was a ruthless and incredibly intelligent man.

He put a stranglehold on Japan unlike anyone.

Nobunaga might've been the first man to subdue all of Japan but his carelessness kept him from holding on to the country for too long.

Tokugawa sealed his control of Japan in a way that really proves how powerful 1 man can be.

Ieyasu’s real grave is not at Nikko as many think. It’s at Kunozan Toshogu Shrine in Shizuoka, which by the way enshrines all 15 of the Tokugawa Shoguns.

To think my first real look at Ieyasu was "Japanese Dani DeVito with a big ass flame spouting spearcannon" in Samurai Warriors. It blew my mind when i found out the names belonged to real people, and how they'd shaped Japan's history.

I honestly respect him so much, he was a mastermind. He was betrayed by his own father and raised by his family’s enemies. He waited, learnt from other people’s mistakes and played his cards at just the right time. By far a more interesting character than the ones who only knew how to win wars.
