ARB AIR LOCKERS TEST | Triple Locked 100 Series Land Cruiser

Hey gang. This is just some test footage I rolled the other day, which I subsequently opted to edit and upload. Because I know 1: this is a shitty and nearly useless upload, and 2: fully expect the wrath of overlanding keyboard warriors to blast it, I’ve decided to preempt their scathing comments and dislikes with a few comments of my own.

This IS just a few clips of my truck in the sunset with a cool mountain backdrop, that’s it, a couple minutes of angles of a truck. I DID wait more than 20 years to actually have lockers in ANY 4x4 rig of mine and I was just stoked to push buttons and gently see these things in action! I DID decide to upload the footage out of amusement.

This IS NOT an instructional video, a comprehensive demo video, a discussion video, or a video that I produced in hopes of gaining street cred/legitimacy as an overlander into the exclusive clubs of $60K + $40K truck/build social media cool guys. I also don’t give a shit if any of you like it at all! I didn’t upload it for anyone’s approval! Sad that this disclaimer has to be said, but the (off road/overlanding) world is full of dicks (who have been wheeling for like 2 years LOL), so.....

So take it for what it is. And leave as many dislikes as you like! It’s all engagement and I appreciate your participation!

I have a problem with ARB lockers. The twin washers inside the air line ring (seal housing) mounted onto the axle spline gear (bearing journal) is so low quality. They begin to leak after a year and start to pump your diff oil out to the air pump and now you have an oil leak from your air pump. And when the leak increases with more wear, your lockers stop locking. You have to dismantle the whole diff to change those washers. And guess what, those also wear and here we go again. They are constantly subjected to friction when the axles are moving. This is a big big design weakness. I prefer electrically operated lockers now.

What suspension do you recommend I put on the 4runner?
Im looking for something thats the best bang for the buck, mostly commuting nothing crazy, with a rooftop tent.
Im not looking to rail across the desert! : P

Your compressor keeps running, suggesting a leak. Happened to me twice. Once was a diff breather tube stuck open. The other was an airline loose connection to the compressor. Both easy fixes. Your compressor should not continue to run once locked. FYI

Triple locked...3 times less stuck.
Oh man seeing that LC go up after switching the “all lock” is satisfying.
How many times was I rear locked and still couldn’t get myself out.

Any issues with the lockers and the IFS? Also, are you able to steer with everything locked? I thought that lack of steering while triple locked was not physically possible. Still new to all of this.

Hey Jeremy, I've been watching your adventure teq channel for a couple weeks now. I'm about to purchase my first 100 series and selling my 4runner in the process. I've had 4runners my whole life but I was able to trade my sas'd 3rd gen for a fj40 crawler this past summer. I also convinced my dad to get an 80 series too. It's nice to see your honesty regarding other overlanders and IG clout chasers. I'll be following along with your 100 build, it's a new platform to me but I'm excited to start working on one as well.
