I've been cutting and coloring my own hair since I was 16. Never been back to a salon 😅

I don't know why they didn't do the roots, but since it's covered up, I guess it's not a big deal. YOU ARE SO PRETTY THOUGH!!!!

No cuz why they left like a dent mark at where the blonde begins like nah

Those ends are exactly why you need to take off an inch or two a year. It's like a frayed rope. It'll just keep unraveling and breaking unless you trim off the broken and seal (condition) the ends. It frustrates me when people say it doesn't work when they've never tried it and then complain about their hair staying at the same length.

Dont worry girl, take off inches grows your hair healthier and maks it look fuller bc it removes the thin frayed parts! Soinds counter intuitive but trust me.

Honestly, getting layers with your hair like that and then like giving yourself like a blowout hairstyle oh my God pure awesomeness

It sounds like you had a much better experience this time around!!!! I'm very happy about that, and it sound like they explained what they were doing and where they were in the process as they went to make sure you were comfortable with what they were doing

i am so obsessed with having long hair even when it got damaged i refused to cut it so i’ve been cutting a little bit at a time for months and finally gave up and cut the rest of the damaged bits so now it’s to my shoulders and i desperately wish it would grow back IMMEDIATELY

I have a similar hairstyle minus the pink, I always bleach at the roots bc it makes it look better imo but it’s your hair

At age thirteen, I was looking to get my hair cut short again. I just wanted the shaved sides look that other typical boys get. What she gave me was a BUZZ CUT. I was horrified, especially considering my hair takes forever to grow.
Another time, I finally decided to get my hair professionally done when I was fifteen, and I did it just before my sophomore year. I requested pastel blue.
Not only did their bleach turn my hair into a dark yellow, they continued with dying it pastel blue and it became dark teal. I despise teal. During the bleaching process, they put the bleach directly onto my scalp. It burned and itched horribly. This was $200 of my OWN money that I had saved up for years. I had bleached my hair in the past and it had been lighter than how the salon did it.
Two days later, I got a deep blue hair dye and it was beautiful.
Ever since this experience in particular, I just started cutting my hair at home. It's turned out great so far. Even if I make a mistake, I'm not very upset because it isn't like I spent a lot of money on that mistake.
