we need to be honest about are lying- when its justified to lie, when honesty/truth helps "everyones" best interest safety more.. most situations call for truth.. How about gossip ? i learned its best to bring it to the "named" person 1on1, not cowardly behind back- to keep your own stars aligned upstairs, not risk karma to yourself.. Give an individual a chance to defend themselves. Not wreck them.. you gave example/solution to problem. THANKS keep sharing PEACE MR-

I made a New Year’s resolution this year to not lie. It’s been very eye opening. I did it for two main reasons.

- lying can incriminate other people, unbeknownst to you. I learnt this in real life… you have no idea if even the smallest lie will implicate someone else.

- I wanted to be more accountable. We often lie to make ourselves look or feel better. I thought that if I’m honest about my life, I’ll own my mistakes, and if someone judges them, then it’s a good litmus test of their character.

I think it’s very unrealistic and rare that you’ll actually have to lie in your life. And even when the guards come knocking, and you lie and say ‘no, she’s not in the attic’, they may check the kitchen where, unbeknownst to you, she changed locations. You just never know how your lie will backfire.

Not lying has given me a quiet confidence.
