The Nostromo ship stops due to an unknown signal from traveling. The crew lands on the planetoid to investigate the signal.

I saw this in Boston when it came out in 79.
The Charles: old school opera theater setup.
Majestic Opera Seating.
Red Velvet - Everything.
It was perfect for it.
When it was over, everyone filed out, nobody was saying a word.
Everyone was fucking stunned by what they just witnessed.

Most of the deleted or edited scenes were done so for good reason with this film. They diluted the creepy horror aspect of the movie. I fist saw this when I was about 5 years old around 1984 scared the crap out of me😅

When I first saw this movie, I knew then that this was something special. So many things about the movie were a first, I especially was enthralled by the cross talking, etc. Gladly my intuition was right. This is an unbelievable classic that will live forever.

The signal on the computer monitor isn't exactly as in the original version; the message appears on the computer's monitor, but then is indirectly viewed on the helmet glass of a space suit for some minutes
