The Ultimate Toy Box Camper! NEW Adria Twin Sport 640 SG

Today at Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2021, Dougal and I take a look at the BRAND NEW 'Ultimate Toy Box,' the Adria Twin Sport 640SG.

Being a Twin Sport, it has a raising roof containing a double bed. Combined with the two fold-down beds over the garage, this makes it a credible four berth camper van.

At the moment, the 640SG is only available in 'Sport' trim with the raising roof, but Adria is considering a two-berth version without the raising roof.

In the garage there is one bed which is 2m10 long, and a second which is 2m long. These combine to make a double of 1.5m x 2m.

Beds are height adjustable between 70cm and 1m10 from the floor, so you can use them without needing to remove your mountain bike from the garage. There are racks for outdoor sports gear such as skis and snowboards, and soft bags that clip to the wall which store all your bits and pieces. Best of all is the combined wardrobe/drying room, which is vented and has an outlet from the Webasto diesel heating.

Had the Adria Coral 660SCS Motor home here in Australia. Kept it 18 months then sold it and bought a luxury caravan. It was well made but so old fashioned looking as it was probably made for the UK/USA markets where they love the woodgrain finish on everything. It was quite dark and miserable inside. The bed was uncomfortable as it was only a thin foam pad and so cold as with the bed extending out the back and over the boot it got cold at night. The bathroom was tiny and even sitting on the Loo was an accomplishment and I am only 173cm tall but ended up with bruised knees every trip as there was so little leg room. Unfortunately we could not put a tow bar on to tow a small car as it did not meet Australian standards and and we had a few other small issues so decided to cut our losses and move on. To be honest while it did have some good points it pales into insignificance next to the caravan.

Love Adria. Would like to see them innovate even more. They were the first or one of the first, as far as I am aware, to have the skyroof. Now every Ducato based van has it. They were one of the first to have non-wood themed interior. Adria should be the one taking things to a new level on weight and technology. The soft bags instead of upper cabinets at the rear are clever. How about a recirculating shower, or an open layout without vertical partitions?

think swinging bathroom missing and also dinette table slightly slimmer in order to have enough room lengthwise in the back to get motorcycle comfortably in, also roomers that the fridge may come with opening from either side

Cheers, great video. Have you any thoughts on the quality of the white painted bumpers. Most 2022 model Adria white bumpers I've seen recently appear to lack the gloss finishes of other brands. Just wondered if it was a poor batch? Would also really like a review of their 2022 Twin Supreme 640SLB if you've set eyes on one. 🤞👍

I’m sorry - that fridge position is insane. Absolutely fine to open the fridge from outside the van if you are relaxing in European sunshine but what about the (more often than we would like) wet English days when the side door of the vehicle is closed?
