One thing the director mentioned is that he was walking a tightrope. Trying to pay homage to the original while still doing his own thing. It makes sense that there are some people that think he paid too much homage. And that there are some people that wish he hadn't done his own thing at all.

As a long time fan, I'm not nervous. I'm bored. The Alien franchise has been used up, it's all been done before. Let's have something new.

i"m definitely going to see this film. And I couldn't care less what so-called movie critics say. For starters, I love Fede Alvarerz films. Evil Dead 2013 was excellent. As was both Don't Breathe films. and I also really enjoyed his Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And I've been waiting for this film as soon as I found out that Fede Alvarez was directing it. And why would anyone listen to a movie critic? Go see the film and draw your own conclusions. Just because they don't like it, doesn't mean you won't. I will be there on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it.

The Alien fan base is it's own worst enemy. Most will never be pleased. There's those of us that's more than ecstatic that there's still movies in this franchise being made.

The first two acts are good but that ending is so bad, it gave me a new found appreciation for alien resurrection

This is a bland facsimile of Alien. The story is lame and the characters are thin. The ending is outright dumb. Resurrection is a better movie.

Just came back from watching it and tbh it felt like a Disney + movie, it should have been on streaming, sorry to say that. He should have used Ridley Scott’s cinematographer for this one. The final monster was cool the first 4 seconds, after it became goofy. He looked like Slenderman.
