Very good points, thank you. Using cellular Apple Watch with cellular iPad mini 6 (although there is no Apple Watch app for iPad). Works out fine because my iPad is cellular as well as the Watch. Just have 2 different numbers but sure beats a $85 T-Mobile plan. Pay $20 for unlimited 5G on the iPad mini and $5 for the Watch and a phone number. iMessages go to both as well as FTA but damn sure I’ll use a $5 phone plan with my Airpod pros

Yeah good point, fortunately it's card terminal which needs to have internet connection not the watch, phone or physical card ;)
Adding camera or video conferencing means using video encoder/decoder and unfortunately it will eat up the watch battery in no time. Other issue is squeezing all hardware together while most customers would prefer slimmer and nicer watches than bulky ones. So yeah it will need further developments in power saving/efficiency and miniaturising things, we need to wait a decade or two :)

I am looking to buy an apple series 7 with the GPS and Cellular, l have an iPhone 13 pro as not long ago just taken itout as it was upgrade with three, now if i was to leave my phone at home would i be able to reply or txt from the watch at all without my phone. As l was told when l purchase the watch the watch pairs with your phone is that right, but have seen so many comments regarding only O2, EE and vodaphone are the only network provide this? Is this true?

If you make a call from the watch, you’re stuck on the phone screen. If you make it from the phone, and switch to the watch, you can do other stuff on the watch.
