I think one main benefit people miss when it comes to the cellular version is peace of mind. What do I mean by this..? There are some of us that are dads and husbands that would very much appreciate the fact that in case of an emergency, there is a second layer of opportunity to make an emergency call or text if needed with the apple watch for kids or spouses. I think for kids the Bluetooth or “GPS” one is fine, unless your a parent that wants that extra layer of “safety” in situations where a kid may loose or let their phone die but for adults it’s smart to go with cellular if ur able to afford the extra cost on your bill. I have Verizon it’s only 10$ for my watch plan and worth every penny. very handy to have ur phone right on your wrist and not worry about having your phone in hand 24/7. If my phone dies, gets stolen, lost or broken I’m not without a way to call home or help if needed! As a woman I think it’s almost like extra security as well. & It’s actually helped me cut down on my screen time with my phone.

I’m thinking for purely safety reasons, living in a metropolitan area and being out at night, the cellular watch makes more sense. That’s the deal breaker for me.

With the GPS only version can I leave my phone at home and still track fitness? And maybe this might sound obvious or stupid but can I also use maps without my phone near, it is called GPS right idk?

This guy has never used a cellular Apple Watch and making a video comparing the two models kinda absurd. I switched to the cellular model a year ago and the stress relief of NOT have to carry the phone with you all the time is well worth it. Maybe I can extend my life a few more years for not having this stress.

So the interesting thing is you actually can save 60 dollars in 2 years if you get the cellular model. Right now with T-mobile there offering the ultra for 600$ on a 2 year contract. Then the service is only 10$ a month for the watch.
