Using stale bread to make cookies I ZERO FOOD WASTE RECIPE

Bread turned dry ? There’s life left in them yet! Watch our cook-along or follow the recipe :
Time: 30min. (Prep time: 20 minutes + bake time: 10 minutes)
- 160g stale bread, powdered
- 1 egg
- 100g butter (softened)
- 100g flour
- 100g sugar
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of baking powder
- 150g chocolate of choice

Preparation:
Heat oven 180°C / 356°F / gas 5-6
Reduce stale bread to powder with a blender
Break chocolate into small chips
Sieve bread powder to remove crumbs, and mix it with salt and flour. Add the pinch of baking powder.
Add the butter and the egg, then mix it all together to form a dough
Throw in the chocolate chips and the hazelnuts.
Roll the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them slightly apart from each other on a baking sheet (they’ll rise)
Bake for 8 - 10 minutes aaand you’re ready to go! Remember to store them properly in an hermetic container, or use your freezer in case you won’t eat them soon - but we're pretty sure you will. 😏

Thank you so much for this! I never seem to get through a loaf of bread before it goes off. For years I've made French toast and bread pudding, but I was getting a bit tired of those. This was such a good suggestion. Just made a batch and sitting here dunking them in hot milk. I added sesame seeds and cinnamon, and they're very good. 🙏

Ich nehme gerne das alte Brot und weiche es in Obers mit Eier auf und Brate es dann. So lassen sich auch super Aufläufe machen. Ich hab nie verstanden warum man trockenes Brot wegwirft. Da kann man so viel draus machen. Und wenn mal gar keine Zeit ist, dann geht immer noch Brotsuppe...

Heute ausprobiert sind prima geworden. Hab sie allerdings vegan gemacht. Diesmal mit fertigen Eiersatz ( 1/2 Banane oder 2 bis 3 Esslöffel Apfelmus gingen sicher auch) und veganer Butter. Gibt es bestimmt wieder.

I like this idea but video says to turn bread into a crumble and the written recipe says to turn it into powder and strain the crumbs.
So which is it?
If you tried the recipe, in which way did you turn the bread? Crumble or powder?

great, but I think they would be wonderful ven without the bread. Was hoping to not have to add so many ingredients as the bread was already there.

Wusste gar nicht, dass man aus Brot Kekse machen kann 😄 aber euer Brot sieht im Video sehr weich aus, wie macht ihr das denn mit steinhartem Brot oder Brötchen ?
