"RS3 to a Forte GT, what are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking of saving money"🤣

Honestly I’d recommend going back to a GTI or an R. I’ve had my mk8 for just over a year and it’s such a good daily, I see no need to replace it anytime soon!

I had a 18 Golf R for daily. Paid for. I bought a new GTS 4.0 for weekend car. A short time later, I traded in my Golf R for Macan S with 9k miles on it. I ended up giving the Macan to my wife and bought a MK8 Golf R. I missed the Golf R as my daily. It’s the best!! It’s ok to go back.

Civic type R . Hatch has so much cargo space, amazing shifter, great gas mileage, 4 doors, reliable, pulls hard in every gear. Amazing resale value.

I told you not to sell your Golf R brother. It’s call the ultimate daily driver for a reason 😉

I'm an Audi RS3 lover, I get that you don't want a high car note, I think that was the real main issue you had with the car, that being said maybe you should get a used Tesla model S 75 D awd 2018-2021 are in the $30k and less range. 518 hp . The only issue would be taking long distance trips because it's travel range is 259 miles, but that shouldn't be an issue since you want it for a daily.

I've been following your channel for a couple of years. Love the videos man. Back in Dec 2023, I traded in my 2017 MK7 R (530 bhp and all 034 motorsports suspension catalog, wheels, etc) for a 2024 Audi RS3. My Golf R was waaay faster than my RS3. I ran 10.9 quarter mile passes a few times with the R. Hell, my RS3 feels like a Camry compared to my Golf R lol. However, I know for a FACT that once the 8Y's ECU is unlocked, the RS3 will be on a different level. Just Stage 1 will bring my RS3 power to the R's territory without so many modificatios. I know you don't really modify your vehicles, but I would wait at least until ECU is unlocked and do Stage 1. Also, I agree 100% with you regarding the lack of low-end torque and weird RPMs on the RS3. All that will be sorted out by the tuners. It usually takes about 3 years for tuners to develop their software on new platforms. 8Ys ECU is very different than 8Vs. 8Y came out towards the end of 2021. We should be very close 😉

RS3 is the only car that will hold it's value

I wouldn’t worry about the perception of going back to a GTI or Golf R. Sometimes cars work out and sometimes they don’t.

No on the Kia. I understand the Mercedes and BMW. I understand the Tesla but don’t like it but that’s my personal opinion.

Based on your criteria go with a GR Corolla or GTI. Hyundai Elantra N I think is a good choice but I know you struggle with the octane learning. I think you like something fun with some personality. The other cars are cruisers and comfortable but I think they will bore you.

I owned a 2021 Forte GT for 3 years and LOVED it. I had zero major issues the entire time. Only minor issue I had was once or twice a year, no sound would come out of the speakers but disconnecting and reconnecting the fuse or turning the car off and on again solved it. Anyway, the Forte GT is an amazing daily driver, especially with the GT2 package. Also, the way it is geared, it is very torquey even compared to my Elantra N. Ultimately, I do think it is too slow for what you want tho.

You didn’t include this one but the Elantra N is an interesting choice too because it would solve your RS3 too sluggish/too fast problem. The EN is very quick around town as it is. Sometimes, you do need to downshift to get that torque you want but, unlike the RS3, it isn’t too fast once you downshift. It is also surprisingly peppy across the different modes. Even Eco gets the jump on most regular traffic.

If it weren’t for the slightly dated technology, I’d suggest a used RC 350 or IS 350. They’re a bit boaty but they’re almost as fast as the BMW 330i, they have some surprising luxury creature comforts, and the ride is comfy af (I test drove one last year).

Happy to throw my suggestion in- I have not long got my mk8 golf R and it's the best daily I have ever had however I was torn between that and the the m340d which I test drove and blew me away. It has crazy low end torque, used prices are decent, plenty fast enough and absolutely crazy mpg!! If it was me I would be ruling out the crazy expensive ones like the S5 etc as think you may end up back in the same position as you are now. Great content in your videos as always, I find your going for a drive and chatting very entertaining!

Get something more interesting than a c300 or 330i. Love your videos with multiple cool, interesting, fun cars

I've driven both the Tesla model 3 single motor and the BMW 330i and they're both good cars but dull as dish water. I bought a '23 M240i at a substantial discount, skipped the freight/pdi, and got a great daily in exchange. A lot more $ than my mk8 GTI, but one of the best daily drivers on offer.

I used to have 2020 Forte GT with 6 speed manual.
Great car, has good torque.
I used Racechip GTS on it and it significantly improved acceleration.
I was neck and neck with 2 door G35.
One thing to keep in mind is you dont get turbo power untill the engine reaches operating temp, which might take a few minutes after you start driving

Call me crazy but I think a Mazda 3 turbo sedan or hb is a great daily driver. Looks good, has great low end torque, very good interior, great sound system, decent fuel economy, just it's a small car but overall I think it's a great daily. But it needs to be the turbo model, new ones are about 36-38k I think.

As a current MK8 Golf R owner, The Elantra N seems to be a great bang for your buck vehicle for the price.

S4 with a tune has been an amazing daily. comfortable and also rips when you want to.

consider investing in ISweep brake pads for your g87. I have the isweep 1500’s and my wheels still look clean after over 600 miles of driving, no squeak, and the lower dust also keeps the back half of the car way cleaner too. you really won’t regret the initial investment and makes keeping the car clean such a breeze! Also the 330 is a much better daily compared to the c300. I owned a W205 C63S before my G87 and the interior rattles are super noticeable compared to G chassis cars

You would be surprised how many people would love to see a 330i. Make sure to spec it with the sportpack

I still say tesla dual motor is king for your situation and requirements; however, how about a "wild card" option - 2025 GR Corolla automatic? It's getting power/tq in 2025 awd, 3-banger good on gas, and uses a torque converter auto, should be very good! Will hold it's value as well.
Maybe a little out of your price range, as you did bring up the 25' S3 and R options...
