ℹ️ Gluten-free recipe.

🥣 Ingredients:
7oz | 200g | 1 cup yellow lentils
6oz | 150g | 1.5 cup oatmeal
8fl oz | 230ml | 1 cup water
2tbsp oil
1/4tsp salt
2tsp baking powder
1tbsp apple cider vinegar
1oz | 20g | 1/4 cup whole psyllium husk

🥣 Chia “caviar” ingredients:
2tbsp chia seeds
5tbsp | 70ml | 1/3 cup water
2tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp sesame oil
2 seaweed sheets

🧑‍🍳Cooking tips:
❗You can substitute psyllium husk for flaxseed.
❗ As a sesame oil alternative use any oil of your choice.
❗Chia “caviar” can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Been vegan for 34 years and it's so exciting to find something new. When I started in 1990, "plant based" & vegan were never used. People would say "huh?" So glad this "fad" lasted!! 😊😊😊😊

So tasty! I used linseed, slightly ground and added a pinch of black onion seed (kalonji) 😋 Currently soaking the next batch and will try fermenting rather than using baking powder 🤞The "caviar" is delicious too, I am thinking of adding some lime zest the next time. Thanks!

Dont know what hotchpotch ppl make but in india we grind lentils w/o water mix it with chopped cilantro, ginger, onion spices dip fingers in batter n put little little in hot oil n deep fry we call it bhajis for breakfast we mix semolina with little water baking soda onion greenchillies, cilantro etc pour into an appam nonstick pan with little oil cover n cook till done

I made these buns!!! They are very delicious! 😋 I have not make the vegan-caviar, yet. The buns taste like bread. I used regular rolled oats & can see the oats in the finished buns. Did you used quick oats???

Can ground flaxseed be subbed in place of the psyllium hulls? Highly allergic to it.😊

While oats are gluten free cross contamination from wheat products during processing is common. If gluten is a concern ensure the oat product specifically states gluten free.
