Over the weekend this American mink came into care!

They were trapped by an exterminator who luckily called AIWC. Once at our facility our animal care team confirmed the mink was healthy and uninjured. They then promptly organized to release the mink to a more suitable location.

They may not look it but American minks are very aggressive, and being completely healthy this mink was extremely difficult to handle and keep contained, so a quick release was the best thing for all parties involved.

Did you know American minks are semi-aquatic? Though they will also inhabit drier areas if food is abundant.
