I swear I've been making beats for a while now not knowing how to get a nice solid bass sound like this. I've either been setting for an 808 bass which has an annoying kick like sound at the start of each note if its not slid into or using an acoustic bass. Thanks for going back to the basics!

Many thanks for this video!! All these years of making beats, and I never could make a simple smooth, old-school bassline!!!
The majority of VSTs I tried to use seem to have "rougher" sounding presets that would be ideal for torturing people's minds instead. LOL
And I don't always want to go dig & sample basslines from records....
