I started shooting Longbow with a target archery group and could never get any consistency. I am now a member of a field archery club (Company of 60) and now I shoot at 3d animal targets and my aim has improved so much as the targets are smaller and easier to focus on compared to a massive round target face. Several years ago I saw videos from Lars Anderson, those trick shots, curving arrows around targets and such, I can only imagine the skill of the archers of that day. Of course you had accuracy and target practices, but in war, they don't stand still, and the speed shooting and manipulating the arrows is amazing, just amazing. Love that channel. I dont really target shoot, but I do hunt with a compound bow and a longbow here in the US. I think archery, and especially archery hunting connects us with our ancestors in a special way. Its doing things as they once did, and theres something very magical about that. Its also interesting how archery has advanced since then, but for the most part everything is done the same way.

Great tip, I always use a small "X" instead of a circle, and try to hit on all sides of the X
