that frustration with writing is so annoying! that happened with me recently in a book i decided to just dnf to be over with it.

I feel bad for saying I'm happy you don't love Adam Silvera either but it's SO refreshing for someone else to say they've had trouble connecting to his books too. I read They Both Die at the End and it was so disappointing. I think I'll give him another try at some point but I don't think I love his writing even though I want to. (but no shade, I still love him as a human. his book just didnt work for me)

Finally getting to watch this and I appreciate the thoughtful discussion! I couldn't get through this one and similarly picked it up hoping to connect with it more than with his previous work. Adam is such a nice person but this was a miss.

Not gonna lie, the heart attack levels of salt in this video was hilarious to me. That said, 🔥 I would love to see more individual reading vlogs of books that you actually enjoyed reading. The way you express your disappoint here was clever and funny, but when you are enthusiastic about the books you read, your honest joy in the book is so engaging. Really enjoyed this - even more than I normally would have because I agree with everything you said about this book. Adam Silvera is very hit and miss for me but this was the BIGGEST miss ever. I yelled when you said it was amateurish and underdeveloped because that is EXACTLY what I said in my review on Goodreads, lol.

I haven't seen a lot of people talking about this book and I was interested to see what everyone thought of it because he hasn't written a fantasy. But, I agree with what you said at te beginning, his books have always been almost there for me but I haven't found one that I loved.
