I love art books and enjoyed seeing yours. You are right that art books are crazy expensive. I’ve been enjoying buying them from Thrift books or Abe books at a huge discount. I’ve also found that as our libraries transfer over to more digital media and less physical books the often put their art books in the friends of the library sales. There are so many ways to pick them up at bargain prices I’m afraid they may outgrow my studio soon 😊

What a great collection!
I love using art books as inspiration for my own work. Taking an artist’s piece or collection and really zooming in on their techniques or marks, trying them in my own sketchbook. Klimt is one of my favourites to study.
I feel very lucky that my collection of art books are courtesy of my job at a publishing company who has many long and storied relationships with galleries around Canada. We publish at least 4 art catalogues a year in a variety of art styles. I have quite a collection. ☺️
