I'm glad you're covering this issue! I would love to see more emphasis from manufacturers and reviewers on battery capacity retention. I have used an iphone 6s for 5 years and hoping to keep my next phone for just as long without needing to replace the battery every couple of years.I wonder how much capacity is lost from heat due to phone cases.

It's still amazing that most consumers don't understand this simple fact! I hope it become more common knowledge because a lot of people end up destroying their batteries and just run out to buy new phones every year.

Compare filling a glass of water with the faucet turned on full blast. The glass will fill up with water shooting out of the top of the glass. It looks full. But when you turn off the water faucet the glass is never completely full. So as the glass gets nearly full you slow the water down to get it full. This exactly how a cell phone battery works. Provides an example that everyone knows about. Feel free to use this.
