I always liked these elites the most. They're supposed to be lithe and agile, not the big-headed hunched-over bodybuilders of later games.

A thing that I noticed (only played Halo CE once) is that the red sangheili are damn good at dodging my grenades, I'd have to have at least 2 grenades on me to make their use viable, so that I can bait them with one to jump away and then hit them with a second one when they're recovering from that jump

The reason the armor color determines the eye color is because only in CE are those not actually their eyes but rather lenses that are in the facial armor. Whereas in halo 2 onward, the upper part of the elites faces were exposed. Only in CE they had armor.

the dog lizards of CE, best implementation in the series before they started getting built like giant brutes Also, their head shape is the best too. Their mouths can perfectly close and are slim and sleek.

Fun fact, the gold elites in CE fire their plasma rifles more frequently than other ranks!

Great video! But you forgot that the spec ops, gold elites and steath elites have a different armor set than the minors and majors.

very nice video! i looked this up because me and a friend were co-oping through combat evolved in the mcc and we ran into a couple of elites using needlers, and for the life of me i just remember them using the plasm rifle and occasionally the sword. i guess it's finally been long enough that some of the details are starting to fade, although most of the levels themselves seem to be permanently etched into my memory lol.

also which version of the game did you record? it almost looks like it was played on an xbox?

Hmm. After just playing through legendary again. Off of color variants. Blue. Red. Gold. Silver with no circle symhol (which becomes blue elite in anniversary) silver with circle symbol (anniversary becomes white/silver spec op elite) black spec ops elite. Then the one that stumps me. The light grey / light brown elite that shows up in keyes / maw which also has a circle symbol and no circle symbol variant.
