That's just a personal opinion but I prefer the ex version layout where the current cup holders are ahead of the gear lever. That had a cover and may be disguised as a flat surface. What ever is (are) in totally out of sight. These cup holder there look awful and don't have any cover. I don't drink while driving anyway, may be just a small juice or water quickly done in a minute at the most. If carry any bigger bottle of water, I just lay it on the passenger seat when not used.
