First of all, let me apologise to regular viewers for the title of this video, but I needed to draw some attention to this somewhat viral subject matter, in the hope that the 10s of thousands of people that saw the posts going around social media, take note, watch and actually learn something.

What burned and melted this pyramid? Was it a solar flare, a powerplant meltdown, a comet strike or a plasma weapon? Is it even a pyramid? Are all these claims totally unbelievable?

In this video I'll be presented the ideas behind this photo, and also the truth behind the photo. Yes, this is an Ancient Egyptian pyramid, but is it really burned and melted? Watch the video to find out.

I look like a dilapidated mess and I've only been exposed to the elements for 58 years!

The construction techniques used on this pyramid were really brilliant and far more efficient use of materials. It's a pity Ramses had it pillaged but the casing stones of all the pyramids were eventually stolen and reused. Thanks for bringing this to light!

Cheap mudbrick filler, so you're saying this is the Ikea of pyramids.

I love when Matt starts a video by saying sorry for the clickbait, I have fools to teach.

"What burned and melted this pyramid?" - Photoshop did. And some people trying to create a hoax to get attention.

The limestone frame of the pyramid is actually interesting. Was that done for other pyramids as well?

Even the photoshopped pic looks like mud bricks. I don't know what people are thinking.

Ah yes. The one Nefertiti left the gas stove on. 💥

Should be noted that several samples of straw from the mud brick have been carbon dated and fall in the range of the historical timeline for Senusret ll

Fuse failed on the flux capacitor. Wait, what… The mud bricks deteriorated? The photo was altered? You always have the practical and believable answers. Stay awesome.

Can we stop to admire the fact that a culture 6, 000 years ago or more made millions of bricks from mud, and worked together to stack them up, just to put some dude's corpse into???
Stupid and inefficient, perhaps, but also a great feat of engineering and teamwork.
Modern humans lack that sense of teamwork, and we could not do the same thing today without some dire reason behind it.

Imagine having to fake and alter your images that 'prove' your conspiritard theory...

So Middle Kingdom Royalty spent all their money on fast chariots and designer headressess. After the contractor's initial deposit was spent, the Royalty decided that the important stuff was done, and the original contractor "peaced out. " The Royalty decided their pyramid just needed some bondo and bling, and no one would notice the difference. All the joking aside, mud brick is still used today in modern construction. It's a wonderful, heard wearing, economical, scalable, and easily sourced building materiel. Thanks for anther fantastic video.
