I have a Ethos running trough a DBX286s to a SSL2 and it's amazing.

Because this mic isn’t quite like a condenser or a dynamic, I haven’t quite dialed it in yet but I do really enjoy the sound of it. It blew my ears off when I first spoke with the headphones on. It just didn’t sound quite like anything I’d heard when monitoring live. I think you were right when you said it’s not better or worse than an SM7B, just different (while also possessing some similarities). I do find it way better on my own voice than the RE20 was. I can say Earthworks’ customer service kicks absolute ass. It’s nice knowing if anything goes wrong, they are super helpful.
