He’s lucky he didn’t wind up in the water. That was a hard hit!

After the video cuts off he just goes back to fishing like he was bothered by a mosquito.

My grandfather told me a story when his destroyer was sunk during the early part of WWII. Many of the sailors had serious burns. Sharks from all around, were attracted to the bleeding sailors, and they began attacking their life rafts repeatedly, trying to knock some of the injured sailors into the water. The early part of WWII, life rafts had an lattice bottom, that allowed sailors blood to mix with the seawater. They were all praying for a miracle to happen, to be rescued. One seriously injured sailor had already died, and they reluctantly gave his body, to the sharks. Later in the day, out of nowhere, dolphins began attacking the sharks and the dolphins began protecting the remaining injured men. My grandfather felt that those dolphins had sensed they dire situation and their immediate need for the dolpins protection. I don't recall when they were rescued but they were rescued by a passing allied ship. Since then, whenever he saw dolphins being hunted, in situations where they were being killed or captured, it greatly upset him, deeply.

Note to self: Cancel plans to fish in a tiny kayak in the ocean.

"We're gonna need a biger boat", never made more sense.

The speed with which that shark attacked was mind blowing.

“just gently redirect it before it attacks you”
*the shark flying at the speed of light:*

The way his paddle moves beside the kayak, makes it look like the fin of an injured fish from below

I love fishing, but I’ll never go fishing in a tiny boat in shark infested waters 😂

Bro actually bit and held onto the side of the kayak. He wanted a meal. You are so lucky to be alive.

No... "Tiger Shark" didn't "ram you". "Tiger Shark" was teased and tantalized into thinking that paddle was a tasty lunch sized treat picking at the algae on something floating in the water and it took the bait.

There are reasons for the rules of "the old ways". rules like making sure your paddles are not bright and shiny and always securing them out of the water when they are not in use even if it's just going to be while you blow your nose.

How long were you letting your paddle dangle there in the water just like your fishing lour while you fished anyway?

We literally used to say things like "You're fishing with your paddles" to the more oblivious people on the water who were endangering themselves and others that way.

Even on larger lakes one can get capsized and chewed on more than twice by a good sized sturgeon.

Oh yeah... "Make sure your boat isn't small enough for the locals to fit their mouths around" is a pretty good and often overlooked rule too.

Damn, the speed and acceleration of sharks is unbelievable. This guy was real lucky he didn't fall into the water.

People using kayaks in the middle of the ocean will never make sense to me.

As a shark i can confirm this was more of an attack than a mere ramming.

Shark was clearly thirsty it just wanted a sip from your bottle

That shark was on attack mode. No accidental ramming there.

The way he’s so casual with “tiger shark rammed me”. I would never get in the water again 😂
