Peak Performance specialist Lia Grimanis was a homeless teenager. In this talk, Lia shares with us how losing everything can open our eyes to opportunity and joy that we may not have found otherwise. She shows us how, through this new awareness, we can rebuild our lives.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I love this talk. I am mired in grief and most of the time can't see a future. First, I lost my husband, then my home and all that it was, a fun and loving place for our kids, grandkids and family to gather on a whim. It's all gone. I hope to be able to see a brighter future. One filled with love again.

Someone somewhere in her early life gave her permission to survive. She's one of the lucky ones and how lovely of her to share it with us.

As the result of a divorce I will move 1800 miles out of my large house in the southwest to a much smaller apartment back in my midwest home town to be near family and friends. Wife gone, house gone, a comfortable lifestyle gone. It’s hard to fathom right now. It’s painful, scary, and I’m so unsure of the future. But...I have job. If I have a job I can live. If I can live, I can rebuild. If I can rebuild, I can find happiness.

I lost everything my home my dogs except my little jack Russell who I love so much
My ex left and wasn’t happy
Now she owns a nice home and I live with my mom
It made me realize my values weren’t right
Now I help homeless on the street and thank God for my health and my dogs

Leaving a comment because I started my money project this sept 20 2021

after losing everything, losing millions, and etc

I claim it, I will be a BILLIONAIRE in 2023

And I am secretly recording my journey maybe I will publish it next year

my favorite quote from this lady who I think if I met her, we will be best friend over night:

"I found I had the strength to start fixing the parts of me that were still broken. Everyday I had a goal of becoming a little bit more of me"

Praying that I will be brave enough to face myself and become a little bit of me each day.

It's been a tough fight to the point right now and then, I just want to end my life, but then, I keep thinking, what is at the end of this long dark tunnel?

I want to know and I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

Thank you LIA.

I always think when I see homeless people "how did that happen to them?" and "why doesn't the state/government have enough homes and help for people in need?".
