Spirit is innocence. Our power is in innocence, not in thinking we are sinners because we falsely believe sin deserves punishment. Sin needs a mind corrected, metanoia, forgiveness.
Then we know we return to being created in the likeness of God.
"If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice, ' you would not have condemned the innocent."
Innocence allows generosity instead of fear of punishment.
