Potential Energy - The Siphon

5:30, doesn’t it pull more water in due to a low pressure created when the water falls. The water in the straw is poured out and behind it - it creates a low pressure vacuum if you want to call it that and the water in the second cup flows up to the low pressure area

Maybe from the final example the straw didn’t move the water as effectively because the straw was getting water from the bottom of the glass. It takes more effort to move the water up the one side and then down into the other container. That water also has lesser gravitational potential energy. Just a thought.
