Inflation is getting bad. Start Preparing Now

Gotta give it up to nurses that unionize and stand strong together like the nurses at Stanford Health Care who proposed a 24% wage increase over 3 years to keep up with the rate of inflation. And when the hospital negotiators countered with a 10% wage increase over those 3 years, the nurses at Stanford went on strike. Less than 2 days later, the hospital administrators caved, and offered them a 7.5% wage increase the first year, 5% the second, and 5% the third.

That's exactly what nurses should be doing nationwide if they want be paid what they deserve to get paid.

The hospitals need us more than we need them. Remember that ya'll.

I have been a nurse in Florida for 9 years and it took me that long and an assistant nurse manager position in order to get to 40 bucks an hour. The pay here is a joke. It should be a respectable income here in Florida and honestly has been for a bit. But everything, and I mean everything, has been increasing and trashing me financially. Literally everything. Mortgage, property taxes, home insurance(if you're lucky enough to get a company to cover you), car insurance, HOA, hell my damn spectrum went up, eggs. I'm lucky to save anything a month. It's only a matter of time before I'm forced to start living off ramen in order to save a few hundred. It's ridiculous. Yesterday we are heroes and today I am on the verge of being unable to actually live. It's aggravating. I couldn't imagine being a tech in our hospital getting payed the max pay of 18 bucks. How do they expect people to live? Maybe I'm just venting and being a little b*tch but what ever. I'm tired of being nickel and dimed at every corner.

The conditions in which hospitals are making nurses work are scary. The acuity seems to just keep climbing. I feel like I’m just putting out fires and not truly being a nurse. Nursing is incredibly hard work and so mentally and physical taxing.

Nursing/patient care is only going to get worse. My floor is 75% travelers…not good.

Hey, will travel nursing pay still be high in 2024? I am thinking of becoming a nurse (currently an engineer). I keep seeing friends making 200k plus working 3 days a week. Will the pay still be the same in 1.5 years? That's the time it would take me to complete my degree.

Is it worth going back to school to become a nurse at the age of 35? I can get my school half paid for...

With inflation, will those states which cap nursing pay have to raise rates?

In your opinion is it more cost effective to have a mobile point of care testing/procedures business.

I thought the nursing cap pay was only for nursing homes and long term care facilities. Is that incorrect?

I’m trying to go back to Nursing School. But my financial aide ran out 🤷🏾. Y’all pray for me.
