I use the Bausch & Lomb Ultra for presbyopia. Life-changing. Took very little time to adjust to them and they work great. Also one of the few contacts that are comfortable on my eyes all day long. Highly recommend.

My prescription is -2.25 +1.50 in each eye.
For near, I have best success with BioFinity, wearing D lens in each eye. I can read tiny print up close and I can read small text on my computer. But for distance, there is a lot of ghosting and seemingly lack of power so I can't wear them for playing tennis and it's really hard to see while driving at night.
For distance, I have had success with a bunch of center near aspheric designs such as Proclear daily, Dailies, Acuvue Oasys, and these all work great for distance - they seem just like my non-multifocal lenses in fact. But for near, all of these lenses have such bad ghosting that I cannot read ANYTHING up close and have constant blurred vision even on my computer.
I've tried wearing a different type in each eye, but I find my eyes get tired more quickly.
My next step is to try BioFinity with a higher prescription for distance.
Any suggestions?
Oh, and my go to lens at this point is Acuvue Oasys 1-day -2.25. They're super comfortable, I can see at night fine, but I can't read up close like when I'm texting on my phone or when on my computer if the website has really fine print.

I've been wearing progressives since I was 17 with an astigmatism. I tried once, because that's all they had in like 2005 lol to get contacts. They were awful. Finally going back and will try to get some that work and have been watching reviews hoping that in the 20 years the advancements will get me out of wearing glasses. I am so bad about wearing mine especially with sports.

Love my vision with B&L Ultra but within an hour of inserting, they are dry and feel like they’re lifting off my eye followed by blurry vision. Not sure what the issue. I have an eye doc appointment tomorrow as I continue my multi focal contacts quest.

Haven’t found one that works for me yet. They work fine for distance, but I get absolutely no improvement for reading. Maybe because I have steep corneas. Any ideas?

Thanks for the information. Can you describe why you chose Bausch & Lomb over the competition? Do they not also have the center/near technology you mentioned?

My first partial day with Daily Multi focus and makes feel lightheaded and dizzy. Reading cell phone words are fuzzy. How long to adjust?

Going in for multifocals next week. I guess 47 yrs old is my time lol. I have bad allergies so I have to go daily. Dr could you please tell me in your experience which of the 3 you recommend Biotrue, Acuvue or Total has the best transition from far to near or vice versa? That is my biggest concern with multifocal. I have excellent vision insurance so if money does not matter would the Total be the best?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for sharing this, it's very helpful. Do any of these also help correct for astigmatism? Also, do you recommend center near or center far?

Hi, my 15 year old son has myopia and astigmatism. He is now on toric contact lenses trial. I saw in the package label "add +2.50" why the doctor added that? Is my son (15 years old) presbyopic? Or is it part of myopia control? I'm confused. Pls help. Thanks

Scleral lens for dry eyes. What are your thoughts? Is your vision altered while wearing because of the solution pool on top of the lens.

I went to my eye doctor today and he said that my prescription is too high to use multifocal contacts. I wonder if he is right. My R eye is (Sphere -4.75) (Cylinder -1.00) (Axis 158)
My L eye is (Sphere -5.75) (Cylinder -1.25) (Axis 075) and +1.50 on both to see up close.

I absolutely cannot wear the daily multi focal size. Monthly are much more clear to me. Which of the monthly contacts you recommended are silicone hydrogel for presbyopia?
