This was very informative. I've heard about historical contingency before but the concept of determinism was new for me. Evolution is a relatively simple concept but when someone tries to understand it more deeply it starts to become fairly nuanced.

I would be nice to see a book or some scifi of the interactions between humans and the second sentient species on earth (if we're in fact the first) not that i can write a novel for the life of me
