SPEED TEST & CRASH - Traxxas RUSTLER 4X4 VXL vs SLASH 4X4 VXL

We put an end to the question of which RC CAR is faster. We also smash into each other at over 65 Km/h.... My bad! Check the Amazon links below if you'd like one of these cars.

Make sure the esc isn’t set to 50% (beginner mode). I have a slash and it should be way faster than that.

That shock cap failure is common, they don't warranty it. Traxxas makes aluminum shock caps that are much stronger, sometimes a different screw is required going to the metal shock cap or at least it was on my daughters Rustler.

That was funny. Good lexan bodies and tough chassis from Taxxas!

My Slash 4x4 vxl and Rustler 4x4 vxl are about the same top speed wise and acceleration wise. Maybe the ESC in the Slash needs to be calibrated? Also somthing to consider is the Slipper in the Slash is smaller then the one in the Ruster. I think Traxxas made the Slash's slipper smaller due to the skinner tires.

gears and power to weight ratio. btw i had no idea there was a 4x4 rustler. they should have given it a new name, the chassis is completely different

Are you sure that wasn't a brushed slash my slash on 3s is pretty much uncontrollable was it in beginner mode there's something wrong with the Slash

Maybe they're geared the same and the slash has the smaller tires...

I wanna buy the Aarma Kraton 4s. But in Puerto Rico, there not spare parts. So the choice that'll have left is the Slash ultimate or the rustler 4x4 vxl.
What should I buy??

if you put a corvette engine in a truck and race it against a corvette with the same engine on flat pavement the corvette will win. i will admit i dont know much about the rustler 4x4 chasis or transmission or gears, i have the 2wd rustler and its way faster on the road than my slash 4x4, its all about power to weight ratio and gears in this case

My slash vxl does 45mph with the low speed gearing on 3s which is like 72kph, something is wrong with that slash if its a vxl.

So nothing happened when you ran the rustler on traxxas 3cell 5000mAh lipo battery? I mean like nothing will happen if i use traxxas 3cell 5000mAh lipo battery on my rustler 4x4?, im new to these rc things thats why im asking for your advise and can you reply please☺️

Next test: racing it to as slope to fly it through a ring of fire and capture it on slow motion. If successful with one ring of fire then add another one to a certain distance from the first and so on! Now THIS is an exciting idea: The Captain Drone Yearly Ring of Fire Test!!

I have a slash 4x4 that will run 70 mph. It is running 3s . I had to change spur and pinion gear. Without the gear change it was only doing 27mph .
