Give him a raise, Vice, seriously its pretty interesting video, just need more research and voila .... Indonesian is home of many ghost from kuntilanak, Pocong (Pocong The Origin, the 2019 movie is surprisingly good with great lore behind it and not just a loud scary prank of typical ghost movie, sadly no Netflix appearance), the rolling bodiless head, genderuwo, etc

Malaysian here...

U should look into Pontianak and Langsuyar. Apparently they share the same attributes just that Pontianak carries a tombstone wrapped in cloth thinking it was her baby.

It's common to see Pontianak specially student days who live in school or uni hostels specially early morning or thinking of peeing in the middle of the night.
Just go to any abandon houses with thick forest grooves and middle of nowhere. Surely they are always something there.
They love banana tree I don't know why but that's what they are common around it.
There's a few highways in Malaysia u should try and drive in the middle of the night specially using the Karak highway and going to genting.

I heard that Pontianak/Kuntilanak can only giggles. Even when they're crying, the outcome would always be giggles. That's why giggling is their signature.

In Thailand, it actually called Pee Tai Thong Klom(ผีตายท้องกลม) which refer to those who die with miss carried. And believe to have more magic power than Pee Tai Hong that you refer to. And Pee Tai Hong is actually refer to those who die from the accident.

You know what horror stories is like a drug, you often get addicted to it eventhough it scares you to death. Back when i was still working long shift night at IT company would share horror stories among the workers, youd get this strange sensation between scared to death and curious to death, guess us asian do really loved our ghosts and all supernatural things.

Myths are funny and amazing how they travel. I wonder if americans started to report these after the asian horror remake boom of the 2000s

Tips: Go late at Night at 12-1am jakarta is usually slower. Chances rise there. Or try getting intel on haunted spots that are far away from the crowded jakarta or jakartas city skyline.

There is a very beautiful, elegant and charming ghost in the form of a special icon queen from Indonesia named:
> Nyi Roro Kidul. (Queen).
> Nyi Roro Jonggrang. (Queen).
> Nyi Blorong. (Queen).
> Nyi Roro Sumekar. (Queen).
> Nyi Ronggeng. (Queen).
> Nyi Loreng. (Queen).
> Nyi Pelet. (Queen).
> Nyi Rantam Sari. (Queen).
> Nyi Nawang Wulan. (Queen).
> Nyi Dewi Lanjar. (Queen).

10 ghosts are women who wear different royal symbols, unlike ghosts in general because these 10 ghosts have a hierarchical system where there are queens, royal palaces, troops, guards, generals, traditions, territories, symbols, regulations and others (such as life of a country). These 10 ghosts contradict each other and have castes and are not haphazardly present in a slum or dirty place but in a special place.
