I feel like both sides were using misleading stats. However, I feel like MDA was using irrelevant stats, not just exaggerated. The story of her brother defending himself without a firearm against a firearm as justification for fewer guns, is looney at best.

She ponders that gun access is attributed to violence compared to other countries but if you actually review the crime rate stats from around the world per year you would find that they, for the most part, share the same trends even before and after their gun bans. Almost all western countries had a huge spike in violence in the 80s and are following a downward slope now. That and violence mainly stems from high density cities or counties that are poverty stricken. The US has more condensed areas then most of those countries

When the MDA representative brought up her brother in law being attacked with a gun she just reinforced the point that we need to be able to defend ourselves against criminals, the police only show up AFTER the crime has been committed, the idea that you can defend yourself from a gun with a power cord is ridiculous, I'll keep my guns for self-defense, As an Army Veteran I don't need more gun safety training to exercise my RIGHTS !

This woman in the red just can't get a clue. She's going on about how violating people's rights is "common sense" and how disarming you will make you safer. All the while completely missing the point of why those rights are there in the first place. The second amendment isn't for hunting. It's for self defense. Including defending yourself against an out of control government.

Our 2nd amendment defender here put up a sloppy argument. Disappointing.
