Not all placements are bomber....

I was doing some placement tests with my trad climbing gear, specifically my kouba micro nuts the other day on Mt. Tammany in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in New Jersey and had to do a bit of trial and error before I found just the right nut for the crack (perhaps a bit more on the error side of things).

With that particular nut (it was a #2 steel micro nut) I noticed a tiny chip of rock blew out when I weighted it, causing it to shift out and fail. With a bigger piece it wouldn't have been an issue, but that tiny chip was a third the size of the nut itself, so it's a good lesson in placements at the Water Gap, Where the Rock can be questionable at best.

As for the #.1 cam that popped out, I knew that wasn't placed well, i was just too lazy to go back down and get the right sized cam out of my pack, that's why I backed it up with a solid # .5 Made for a fun video at least!
