What's Safer: Native apps, Mobile apps, Browser? Not obvious + Q&A

Let's differentiate between native apps, mobile apps, and using the browser. Some will automatically assume the browser is the safest for protecting your privacy. It's better to understand what each application methodology can do. You may arrive at a different answer once you understand.

I have not been able to watch these live-streams "live" for several weeks now, due to a change at my end, in my time zone. I was previously trying to catch them "live", for at least most of the live-stream, during a break at work - but that is now no longer possible, due to my change in time zone. So I've gone back to just watching the recorded version each week instead. I'm already a member on "Locals" - so, happy to to sign up for these live-streams there as well, if they end up moving to "Locals".

It was mentioned as an option for future live-streams that the first half hour (the talk only, on the stated topic) could still be done on YouTube, with only the one hour live chat/Q & A/interactive side of the live-stream moved to Locals. I'm not sure whether that would mean that there would be no "live chat" on the first half hour on YouTube - as sometimes I find that the live chat during the first half hour can be a bit of a distraction from the talk on the topic - so sometimes the talk ends up actually being less than a full half hour, including time taken at the start to make sure the live-stream is working properly.

I've always practised "browser isolation" on my BraX 2 Privacy Phone (since finding out about this privacy strategy) & it certainly can't hurt to do this - even though it may not always be necessary. In any case, I don't think I've ever used any Google web sites (through browsers) on my BraX2 Privacy Phone. I do have a couple of apps on that phone, which don't fully work without Google Play Services - but I manage to put up with that - even though there's no browser-based option for those apps either.

YouTube will reduce your subscriber count for their own reasons. I have been unsubscribed from channels I follow before. I'll realize I haven't seen anything new from them in a while, and when I go to their channel to see if there's anything new, I find I am no longer subscribed, and I have to resubscribe. I've also heard other creators talking about how YouTube unsubscribes people from their channel. I'd almost guarantee it's not p.o.'ed subscribers jumping ship.

Rob what would you advise For best privacy practice on a phone as even on a burner phone they can be hacked and traced i dont want to have to buy a new every so many months also the old old phones are tedious for texting what is safer for privacy and protection from Black hats out of DE googled phone or a Piphone ?

With regard to unsubscribing. yesterday I watched an unrelated channel, a travel channel, the couple said that subscribers had reported to them that Google had unsubscribed them. Perhaps your so-called unsubscribers have been unsubscribed by Google. This is not a new phenomenon, some other channels have experienced this too.

problem with youtube is that they have defeated the ad blockers :)
