What colors look good on olive skin?

Many olive-skinned ladies will relate to this:

You walk into a clothing store, see a top in a color you love, and think to yourself, “That would look great on me!”

But then you try it on, and it just doesn’t look right. If this has happened to you, don’t worry – you’re not alone. I’ve been there one too many times.

The good news is that certain colors look great on warm skin tones like olive. Here are a few of my favorites:

Incorrect. People with olive skin can have cool undertones or warm undertones; it depends on each person. Therefore, the best colors for people with olive skin are those that match their correct color season (warm = spring or autumn; cool = winter or summer). Case in point: I have olive skin but a cool undertone. So, cream and orange look awful on me because they are yellow-based colors, but magenta is amazing because it is a blue-based color. Likewise, someone with a warm undertone and olive skin will look awful in magenta but amazing in cream and orange. So, it's not about the overtone (olive skin) but the undertone that determines your best colors to wear. Hope that helps!

If it's not liquid in a glass, I don't like the color orange. I don't want to look like a pumpkin or that I work at The Home Depot. I don't care that if they say it looks good on me. I hate that color! Turquoise? How often do we see turquoise in clothes? Hardly ever. Come on! There has to be a better selection of colors I can wear!
