Journey To Philippines Land Of FISHPONDS (Pangasinan)

FISHPONDS... THAT'S HOW I STARTED.

And I wanted to visit the Philippines capital of bangus, Dagupan.

Though my time in Dagupan itself was short, I enjoyed our trip through Pangasinan.

From Zambales, and a shot of ginamos (not recommended) from a lady who moved from Davao decades ago, to its northerly neighbour, I was immediately struck by the friendly people in a barangay of Dasol known for producing salt.

Due to this year's crazy weather, they haven't been able to start producing yet - but they were exceptionally talkative about life there.

We continued to Agno, and the exposed coast... this area is open sea for hundreds of miles. Inland, it's also a bit wild - or maybe that's just the road that Kulas took me up (thanks Google Maps!)

Onwards to Hundred Islands and Dagupan - bangus was on the menu, before a quick soiree on a random boat on a river with more fish pens than I've ever seen!

Excellent video! In the future, Anselm please please please teach Kyle how to drive a dirt bike/ MOTORCYCLE like yours. I know Kyle has done it before, but I still get so nervous seeing him drive a STREET scooter through the rough, muddy, dirt areas you go through. Thank you again for accompanying him!

KD, it is nice to travel with a friend like Kulas, I was at Alaminos, Pangasinan years ago and was able to ride a boat with relatives to see a few of the Hundred Islands.

😆 I noticed however you avoided the topic of the absolutely horrendous food in Pangasinan. Spent a month there, lucky for me wife's family fed me good food like goat calderetta, and dog adobo (quite good) and chicken. Food Warning is essential for this beautiful province with amazing 👏 people.
