FAO: You the commenter! This isn't an advert, I've never spoken to LG in my life or any other monitor vendor for that matter! This also isn't a general consumer infomercial like you'd get on mainstream tech channels, it isn't structured and presented like one and that's intentional, please don't judge it with expectations of it being that. This is a professional channel with content aimed at an audience who generally may not be followers of the tech scene, so specific technical specs are intentionally omitted... including referencing things like resolution capability. This is also not a review of any particular monitor, it's an awareness piece to educate workplaces on the benefits of ultrawide panels. Cheers.

I think the best combo for engineers is 2 monitors. Ultrawide as principal (for designing software, etc) and a normal one (maybe cheaper, smaller, etc) for support porpoise (to read codes, catalogs, specifications, during the designing sessions).

i do have a very stupid question... are ultra wide curved monitors ideal for us who work with a ton of lines and stuff?
Like in autocad, revit, 3d modelling. I have some fear and some bending might occur.

is this a valid fear or should i just go for the curved?

Thank you! Just upgraded to a spacemouse, which was a game changer, with the unexpected benefit of easing Slicer software too. A new monitor is next to replace my dual 19/24” combo😎

How about curved vs flat 34" ultrawide monitors. Which is best and comfortable to use for applications such as AutoCAD and Revit that deal with straight lines. Do lines look distorted in curved monitors? Or whats the ideal Curve Radius you recommend.

I just graduated and started at a company. Thankfully the boss understands the need for engineers to have good equipment and told me I could pick my peripherals. I was leaning towards asking for a single ultra-wide instead of a pair and seeing this video sold me on it.

Just got LG's newest 38" monitor a few weeks ago. Wish I never got 3 x 4k monitors. Should have gotten the 38" for a main screen for all things CAD and a pair of flanking 2k monitors for the same price as the 4k setup with OH so much more screen real estate. It's literally like looking at a full size 22"x34" plan sheet!

Great video! I've been a die-hard dual monitor guy since mid-2000's and even swore off wide panels when I first heard of them a few years back... but thanks to you now I am rethinking and going to ultra-wide layout.... Appreciate your content. Keep it coming!

Good video, and I like the way you just made your point and didnt try throwing a bunch of stats at us. Definitely going to get one of these myself.

This is a really useful video. Thank you for not going on how good it is for gaming which there is nothing wrong with that but to find a review on CAD activity has been difficult, so thank you. Yes I don't want stats and specs as I just want to know as you said is it any good 😎

Thumbs up and thanks for your TFI Chanel.

I have an Ultrawide monitor, my only complain is that I have to move from side to side constantly hehehe, so it is kinda uncomfortable. Anyway mine is flat, what about curved monitors, aren't those bad for straight lines?, I mean those are vital for CAD applications.

Great video but one thing is missing: I had 3440x1440 ultra wide monitor and working with with quadro mobile 2200 on this monitor forces gpu a lot and sometimes it is impossible to make drawing. Now I use 2560x1080 monitor and it is more acceptable use. shortly if you dont have a good gpu forget about using this kinda monitors

I personally got 2 x 27 inch Asus ips 1440p monitors. Does it really make that much of a difference if the screen are even wider? Like what would the real benefit be here? Not that I say such a monitor is bad choice, just looking at my personal case.

I find it hard to imagine that it would make that much difference from what I have. Such a large monitor would just use more space since I would still need a 27inch monitor next to it for the non cad/render tasks (prefer to have those on a different monitor).

I use the middle monitor for CAD, the side one for Email/PDF/internet (this one split in two, so I have two widows open at a time).

Agree 100% I just got upgraded with a 32” 1440p Monitor at work, from 2 x 24” 1080p, after telling them almost exactly what you just said :) And now, my boss just did the same!

wondering if this is best when you're very near sighted. Will it make my tools a little big bigger?

would you recommend a curved display for designers ?

How do your videos not have more likes and followers, such great content, thank you for the video.
I am a engineering student first year (start January 2021) currently study tertiary preparation for Engineering Course.
I've bought a i7 9th gen Acer Predator Helios 300 (16GB Ram, 256GBSSD, Nvidia RTX GEFORCE 2060)

I want to buy this monitor that you have described in the video, would you be able to do a 2020 video version or even just reccomend some models? would you stilll recomend this in 2020?
