I’ve had the iPhone X for a month and I love it. It makes sense for people who are invested in the Apple eco system and are in the market for an iPhone. The Samsung S8 is way better value though and I understand why people would prefer that route.

I also used this phone since November 3rd and I can say that it is an alright phone. The battery is great! The camera is amazing. Face ID works most of the time but can be more annoying than touch ID because you can't have your face blocked and you have to look directly at your phone to unlock it. The display is also really nice. The problem with the display is that apps don't fit and are the size of the iPhone 6 screen with big black bars on the sides. Also it's really small compared to the 8 Plus's screen. I had a 6S Plus and the X is a lot smaller in comparison and I almost regret getting it for this reason. Everything else is great. The gestures are very fluid and it's overall a great phone if you don't like giant phones, and want something different than all the other iPhone's.

I love mine but face ID bugs me a bit. When I wake up in the middle of the night to check my notifications, I usually have only one eye open and it does not work.

Update: some reports suggest animoji doesn't actually use truedepth sensors - so could technically have worked on iPhone 8/8 plus. Although Apple reps claim it does use it. Further investigation is required! 😀

You can switch apps by swiping the home bar left or right rather than swiping up and to the right and then choosing an app. My favorite feature of the home bar thus far.

The iPhone X was the first iPhone that I skipped since using the very first iPhone. For me personally, there wasn't enough of an upgrade from the 7Plus to justify the upgrade, even though it would only add about 20ish dollars to my current contract. Awesome video, I've always preferred these types of reviews compared to the super quick 1 week review types.

Just got my iPhone X and will be doing a camera test and review on my channel soon and I have to agree with face ID. It works but the overall process feels slow

Have been an Apple user and investor for quite sometime. Owned the original iPhone and currently the 6S. Will definitely be upgrading to an iPhone X this month. Enjoy your tech takes. As an American, love your Brit accent! Cheers!

My wife has the X and I have the 8 Plus (she always gets the better phone) and I must say that I really love my 8 Plus but still a lil jelly she has the X. With the most recent update of iOS 11 it's better than when I first got it.

Great review. I've had mine for a couple of weeks and I'm really enjoying it. I'm usually am Android user but thought I'd try this out, and so far there are only a couple of things I really miss on Android (eg apps for certain things, SD card slot, being able to download music straight onto my phone). The notification system is definitely better on Android too, such a mess in iOS. But otherwise the build is great, screen is gorgeous, battery has been very good, camera excellent (though front facing is not great) and enjoying the gesture based UI. Face ID is still not my fave, would still prefer a fingerprint scanner because having to look at your phone to unlock it is annoying sometimes. Overall, I wouldn't say it's worth the price tag (is any phone?) but I haven't regretted getting it so far.

Hey The Tech Chap, Yesterday ( 3rd dec ) was my bday and i gifted myself the IPhone X. Your Channel has helped me a lot on getting informed about the latest developments and morover, the BEST choice for the todays gen tech. I was a Sony Xperia E2 user, for 6 years, and the IPhone X is the FIRST phone that i hv purchased after waiting for nearly 3 years. The IPhone X is grt ppl.... Nothing like it in the market Today!!! I wasn’t going to upgrade but my wife convinced me to and I have to say I didn’t like the smaller size being I come from an iPhone 7plus but I have to say that the more I use it the more I love it !!!

I watched this video on my iPhone X. My daughter convinced me to get this phone over the iPhone 8+. I think it was good advice! I love love love the facial recognition! I find that I rarely have to use the passcode.

No touch ID and the notch ruined it for me, so I've gone with 8+ and don't regret it for a second. iPhone X (it really should be called X, not 10. Apple are strange creatures) as you say feels like a first gen. I hope rumours of the touch ID under the full screen are true for the next phone, and they sort the notch and then I'll be on board.

Thanks for the great review! The contract on my iPhone 6S is up next month. Was considering getting the 8, but think after watching this I will go for the X now!
