Going forward the U.S. is going to lose its #1 position to China, . However, the U.S. will do everything to divide China and India, just for it's own benefit. India and China should be smarter than that, work together on as many levels as possible, rather than following into the U.S. trap. China and India should decrease U.S. influence in Asia as well as globally. We need a balanced world, not a world in which one country is dominating all the others.

1962 Nehru was telling China hindi chini bhai bhai and behind he is ordering india army to proceed with the forward policy . He thought China had just recover from a great famine and preoccupied by the China - Soviet standoff and China will not react and he was wrong .

2020 Modi thought China was having a trade war with the US and he can gain a greater influence within the Quad . But China show India they are not afraid to face a second front.

India policymaker is either naive or foolish to think China will back down from their territorial claim .

18:30 - I disagree with the honourable ambassador regarding India’s relationship with the US. She will have us all believe that the US-India are all weather friends built on complementary interests and values. Has she forgotten that as recently as 1980s, US nuclear warheads were trained on India as Washington felt that India was too close to the Soviet Union?

This interview reconfirms a common view that China quietly develops and delivers and India loudly brags and debates.

India is really a nothing burger, as Americans say.

CORRECTION: It is the India that is stubborn and created trouble toward China in the last five years. But they are softer now because they have a trouble relationship with the U.S. 😅. China never views India as a competitor or rivalry. They are not at the same level.

Why is China the stubborn one? Need to be fair in your comment. Is this always the Chinese fault? India is not at fault? This is why there is so much problem to normalise relationship between China and India.

India came to realize that being a Yankeepuppydog is not a good idea and being nice to China you get more bones instead of getting bone by America.

Reading a comment posted, I came to the conclusion it was the Indians who were undoubtedly the aggressor in the 1962 war...Nothing to do with British, just pure imperialistic behavior. If you could, prove me wrong, not with "simply you are wrong" but with more convincing arguments.... The comment posted

[ In the sino indian war, India lost the war but subsequently gained more land. Nehru was a brilliant strategist.. Nehru actually invaded china in 1962 when china was begging for food, took advantage of weakened china caused by the famine of 59-62 with 30 millions deads. Moreover, China had a big fallout with the soviet and India was still in the soviet camp, with USA hoping the famine in china would topple the communist regime. USA-Soviet was also distracted with the Cuban missile crisis. In short, china was completely isolated and at its weakest point.
Not only, the Indian army was chased off, the china famous daring light infantry even retook southern Tibet that had been easily taken over by India in 1959. However, the famine had a toll and they retreated from Arundel Pradesh. It was lucky break for India. Both nations should have lost no territory. However, instead of retreating totally, invading Indians stayed on Nepal effectively annexing Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiadhura regions that they have used in launching the attack on china. Consequently, India gained more land even it had lost the war. Nehru had been successful in annexing land and nations for previous 13 years. Nehru did no more annexation and passed on 2 years later. No other Indian did any better.
If china had planned the Invasion, they wouldn't have retreated. It is ridiculous to plan an invasion at time of being completely isolated as a country while having massive famine with only thoughts of finding more food, and then having succeeded with loss of lives and precious resources, to simply give back won land. Maybe food starvation had destroyed China brain or their ability to manage land retaken from India then. Moreover, It is not credible that india was the non aggressor in fighting the chinese by having to move across nepal's land, and then stayed on, effectively annexing Nepal's land. Otherwise a story of China invading India in 1962, but with result of India losing the war and gaining more land, in managing to take over parts of Nepal needs good hard Explanations, because it is so unbelievable.]

Of Course Aksai chin had never been part of India. Article 370 provided the answer. It could be part of Kashmir but then it is closer to tibet. There never had a border drawn between tibet and kashmir. It is only the abrogation of article 370 which bring Kashmir into the union, thereby prompting a new border to be drawn. If it was part of India, you do not a new border to be drawn. Amit Shah presented the new boundary in 2020 or 2019 at the parliament. An another thing, the boundary was drawn unilaterally. Only possible, if you are the sole superpower but India is only an aspiring power. That is where iNDIA GETS INTO TROUBLE. The 1962 war was on the other side of Himalayas, region next to Southern tibet and nothing to do with the aksai chin area.

As advised by Ambassador Nirupama Rao India should maintain good relations with her neibhouring countries by taking into account of their national hope, aspirations & legitimate interest. If India aspires to become a big power like it shoukd follow proverbial saying a Cat wishes to be Lion, must stop the habit of chasing Rats.

Comunism? Bullshot! Annexing nepal land, annexing sikkim and economic blockades even at time of 2015 earthquake pushes nepal away from india.

China will always keep the pot boiling, and will never relinquish their claim of Indian territory in the North East and in the Ladhak region. The reality is the huge inequality gap between India & China heavily skewed in China’s favor.

Always remain alert, India. No time for past sentimental relationship under Congress Rule. Avoid wishful thinking and disruptive internal politics, the trump cards of Congress and Opposition parties. Look at Bangladesh and Pakistan living examples😮😮😮
