Aemond deliberately burning Aegon changes the narrative. This episode showcases what the dance truly is.

Meleys wanted Rhaenys to be the last thing she saw and Rhaenys looking back comforting Meleys that she did her proud.

Meleys really lived up to her title as the Red Queen, one of the fastest and most fearsome of the dragons in The Dance. RIP.
I think the slight grin on Rhaenys’ face when she sees Aegon and Sunfyre shows her overwhelming confidence in Meleys, as if Sunfyre poses no threat at all. Indeed, Meleys makes quick work of Sunfyre. Despite the “help” from Vhagar, Meleys has already severely wounded Sunfyre (rips through the chest, damage to the wing) while only losing a single horn from her head, by the time Vhagar shows up.
And when Meleys faces Vhagar, it’s worth noting that despite the size difference, when the dragons lock claws and spiral to the earth, it’s Vhagar who is thrown to the ground while Meleys simply flies away. I thinks it’s truly astounding how fearsome Meleys is and I just know Rhaenys was so proud of her.

This episode just made me feel worse for the dragons. The fact that vhagar and meleys were besties and now they are forced to fight each other is just so tragic.

Salute to lord darklyn who stayed true to his queen even at his execution and he went out giving cold the cursed name " kingmaker".

I haven't sobbed this much for a character since the death of Ned Stark back in GOT.

Born a princess, died a queen. A formidable woman and a formidable beast. Faced death and embraced it with open arms through fire and blood. As true Targaryens were always meant to be.

I'm legitimately heartbroken by Rhaenys' death... I knew it was coming (in addition to Rhaenys being a fictional character)... but, gods, did I love that character and that actor (Eve Best is/was/will always be AMAZING). Pouring one out this evening for my girl.

Liked the dragons fighting and realizing why all the dragons died off. Those families killed them all in battles that no one really won. Shows how even in families the infighting for power is so destructive.

When Meleys looked back at Rhaenys before she died it felt like she was telling her goodbye with her eyes.
It felt like that kind of look that a scared child gives their mother when they're asking for help, and that just gutted me! 😭

Literally more sad about the dragon deaths than the human ones, brutal.

I stood up for the entire last half of this episode. It gave me heartburn. Geesh that fight was stressful. I was sweating like I was in battle

Nuff Respect Rhaenys, unoffical hand of the Queen. You died like the warrior you were! 👑🖤

Loved that Cristin Cole’s white cloak turned grey with the ashes of all his burned soldiers symbolising not only his dishonour, but show how those deaths / ashes of his men are on him literally and physically.

The playful nudge between Aegon and Sunfyre before battle tells you that neither the dragon nor his rider were meant for military. The hubris and over ambition of his grandfather, mother, brother and Cole drove him this far, and O don’t fault him at all.
