"...1957 and 1935 they made millions." Actually, they made billions! 5.3 billion just with the 1957 date. A nice review.

Informative as usual, Daniel. That’s when money was actually worth something, unlike today’s fiat currency that has lost nearly all purchasing power. Thanks sir.

So sorry to nit-pick, but in the society in which we live a misspoken word or mispronunciation can ruin one's reputation, especially when dealing with expertise on a given subject. You use the word distract ("All that stuff will distract from the value."), which means to prevent someone, something, , etc, from giving full attention to something. I believe the word you mean to use is detract, which means to diminish the worth or value of a quality or achievement. A fine explanation otherwise. Thank you for posting it.

I only own Victory Philippine Silver Certificates I only use it to teach students about gold and silver backed notes and standard based monetary system. But I appreciate good silver certificates but just know I probably need to find a collector trying yo find these certificates to complete a set particularly where I live in where history is pretty much forgotten.

Very cool video. I've been asked a few times lately if I know about silver certificates, and I Did say I think a lot has to do with condition. But I left it at that. I will make sure to send this video to them. Thanks Daniel

Yeah....and the spot price of silver is what? Fiat will always be worth less than Ag Au.

In the early 2000's I was doing construction work and my boss usually paid me in cash straight from the bank in the parking lot. I needed to get gas to get home so I stopped at a gas station, told the clerk I needed 10 dollars in gas and pulled out the first 10 dollar bill i had in my money envelope from getting paid. The clerk was a young black woman about 20 years old. She took the ten, held it up to the light, then said "no baby this is fake I can't take this. I looked at her all confused and gave her a different 10 then she handed the first one back. I looked at it and saw it said silver certificate on it and was from 1933. Only silver certificates I had ever seen at that time were 1 dollar bills. I had no idea they made them in 10s back then but I knew it had to be worth more than 10. I took it to a coin and pawn shop a week later to sell it. Was hoping to get at least 50 for it. While in the shop I saw other 10 dollar silver certificates and the 1933 one was WAYYY more than 50 bucks. Mine had a few creases in it but still had good corners and the guy gave me 700 for it. Blew my damn mind tbh.

Got a 1957B $1 Silver Certificate a couple weeks ago at work (I work as a gas station cashier)... Customer bought a lotto ticket with it and even though I know it's hardly worth anything above face, considering they were supposed to be destroyed after 1969 I still bought it... Can't beat a piece of history for a dollar...
