The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) Humanitarian Aid Program has been active in Cambodia for decades, working with stakeholders in the inherited bleeding disorders community to help the country along the path to sustainable care. During a recent visit, the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program team saw first-hand how long-term collaboration with stakeholders has changed the lives of people with bleeding disorders in Cambodia. Care levels began to significantly improve in the country when the Cambodia Hemophilia Association started working with the WFH. Donated treatment products provided by the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program have had an impact on children in Cambodia by allowing them to receive prophylactic treatment. For many of them, this development means going from a life lived from bleed to bleed—and one emergency room visit to the next—to a more normal existence.
