Idea for book nerd problem: books are getting expensive.

Book problems: having to wait a year or more for the next book in a series, trying to explain what a book is about so the person won't think it's dumb

What's worse is when everyone just assumes you've read a book so they talk about it and get all defensive when you get mad

Am I the only one who goes through a denial stage after being spoiled? Oh it's not true, maybe they misunderstood, maybe they got it wrong, maybe the character comes back to life, etc

This is so true to life. My best friend read this book, that she said was her favorite of all Time and that I had to read I asked what was it about ?

She went on to tell me the plot of the entire book, all plot twists, everything. :(

I love spoilers! I'm one of those people that flip to the last page and read the end first. I just can't handle the suspense.

Exactly! I hate when social networks spoil me about books, and it's worst with people

I just don't tell anyone what I'm reading until I finish the book. Except my parents, but usually just to vent and they've never read the book.

Happened to me at the pool when reading HP #6. To be fair, it wasn't deliberate--father & daughter were sitting right beside me and one said, "Do you think she knows that blahblah happens at the end?" The other said, "Probably not, she's in the middle of the book." SITTING. RIGHT. HERE. HELLO? The best solution is to go radio silent, esp. when reading a brand-new, hotly anticipated book. I shut myself in my house when HP #7 came out and read it through to the end.

This is one og the biggest book nerd enemies. And for me is even worst because I live in a different country so we have to wait longer while everyone else is already reading it. My worst experience was with the 6th Harry Potter book, I though I was reading a fanfiction when it was actually more of a recap of the real book! I didn´t realized until I actually read it and knew who was going to die because of it.
